[Hobby] [Rev-share] Writer & Director looking for Programmer and 3D Artist for a short Horror Micro-Demo ("Pure Imagination")

Hello everyone!

I am Kaiden Chiu, an indie writer and a massive fan of psychological horror and survival games. I am passionate about creating a tight, 5-minute horror micro-demo together as a hobby/volunteer passion project (with future revenue share if we scale up).

The Concept & Visual Style:

The game is *Pure Imagination*. It takes place in a giant movie theater megaplex, built around a dark corporate conspiracy: harvesting the brains of dead creators to endlessly farm digital entertainment.

The Visual Twist: The environment is fully colored and realistically lit. However, the grotesque monsters are completely monochrome and shaded, looking like charcoal pencil sketches bleeding into a real world.

The Gameplay Loop: Managing a limited ink/eraser economy and defending yourself with whittled pencils, quills, and pens that degrade and require manual sharpening.

My Role: I am the Writer and Creative Director. I have the entire puzzle architecture, world lore, and dialogue script mapped out.

Project Proof (A Snippet from Scene 1):

[SCENE 1: THE CONCESSION STAND]

(The player steps into the brightly lit, fully colored theater lobby. The air smells like fresh popcorn and cleaning chemicals. They walk up to the main concession stand.)

PLAYER:

"...Hello? Is anyone running the late shift?"

(The player looks down at the black marble counter. A thick, dark, wet smear of blood stretches across the cash register and drips onto the tile floor.)

PLAYER:

(Breath catching, panicked stutter)

“What the hell-i-I… I need to get out of here.”

(The player panics, bolts back to the main glass exit doors, and jams their corporate keycard into the electronic reader.)

SYSTEM KEYCARD READER:

*BEEP. ACCESS GRANTED. WELCOME, EMPLOYEE #409.*

(Instead of sliding open, the heavy steel security shutters slam down over the doors with a deafening crash.)

SYSTEM KEYCARD READER:

*BEEP. OVERRIDE DETECTED. LOCKDOWN ENGAGED.*

(The player completely freaks out, frantically rattling the metal handles, throwing their weight against the glass, and pounding their fists against the locked barrier in a desperate bid to force it open.)

PLAYER:

(Screaming, frantic)

"Open up! Let me out! Why isn't it working?! Come on, open the door!"

(A deep, wet, mechanical shriek echoes down the pristine hallway behind them. The player freezes, breathing heavily, their hands still pressed against the cold glass.)

SYSTEM KEYCARD READER (Digital Display):

Behind you.

**Looking For:**

* **A Gameplay Programmer** (familiar with Unity or Unreal Engine) to handle player movement and a basic chase AI.

* **A 3D Artist** (who can model a clean theater environment and a stylized, monochrome charcoal-shaded creature).

If you love psychological horror, unique visual contrasts, and want to build a quick, high-impact demo for fun and portfolio building, please leave a comment below or DM me at discord my username is: waltah_white_69. Let's build this nightmare together. 🖤

Hey Kaiden, "Pure Imagination" sounds genuinely unsettling in a good way — the charcoal-monster-in-a-realistic-world visual contrast is a great hook, and that Scene 1 snippet reads really well. I'm primarily a Godot developer rather than Unity/Unreal, so wanted to be upfront about that before diving in — but player movement and a basic chase AI are pretty transferable concepts if you're open to a Godot build, or I'm willing to pick up Unity for a tightly-scoped 5-minute demo like this if you'd rather stick with your original engine choice. Let me know what flexibility you have there and I'd love to hear more.
