Description
Whispers of Elsewhere
This OST was composed for a fictional game called Whispers of Elsewhere.
Whispers of Elsewhere is an exploration and adventure game in which the player awakens inside a cryogenic capsule in a devastated world. He remembers nothing: Where is he? When is he? Why is he here?
Who is he?
As he explores the world, he discovers ancient ruins where strange phenomena known as Whispers appear. These manifestations are fragments of the past, revealing pieces of information about the world, the expedition, and his own identity.
Whisper after whisper, the player learns that he was part of a team of scientists sent to study this world—an alien planet, not Earth. During the expedition, an extreme frost period struck the colony. Most of the scientists perished, and the protagonist became the only known survivor, preserved in cryogenic sleep.
Near the final Whisper, the player obtains a key and a marker pointing to a hidden room beside his cryogenic station. Inside lies the wreckage of a spacecraft bearing the expedition's name in large letters:
MISSION ELSEWHERE
A GPS receiver is still attached to the wreck. The protagonist activates it, but nothing happens.
As he leaves the room, a single beep echoes behind him.
The receiver has detected a signal.
One point appears on the screen.
Its name is simply:
M
Tracks:
Awaken
Plays during the protagonist's awakening and his first moments inside the cryogenic facility.
I Forgot the World
The main exploration theme, accompanying the player's journey through the planet's vast landscapes.
Ashes of Time
Plays while exploring the ruins and uncovering traces of the expedition's past.
Whispers
Heard during Whisper sequences, where fragments of memory and recorded echoes reveal the story of the world.
This World Forgot Me
Plays during the final Whisper, revealing the fate of the expedition and the events that led to its downfall.
Message from the artist
I think it's my best since I started. I hope you enjoy my work!
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
The story takes place in a world the player has forgotten. He must remember who he is and why he is there. Regarding the composition, I used numerous pads and sus2 chords to create an atmosphere of disorientation.

Great soundtrack ! Love that leitmotiv, could use a little more variation, but it's already great ! The ambiance is on top, really immersive, we feel the coldness and the spatial environment in those tracks especially with the reverb, the piano, the overall slow tempo of the musics, the synths...
My favourite is Awaken, you handled well the parts of this one, the piano is beautiful, it plays the leitmotiv, but sometimes it stops right before, then it plays in a longer version and you add more layers to it throughout the music. The ambiance is great !
This is a really nice track, and the piano sections are really nice. I like the guitar part at the very end, although I feel like it needs a bit more bite, personally it's too dark for me with that intensity. Overall great job!
Each song grows gradually with more complexity and I like that. Usually I'm not one for these slower, more atmospheric entries, but I do enjoy the ends of songs when the buildup leads to some really nice sections.
Ashes of time and I forgot the world had my favorite sections at their respective ends with all the instruments. I also like how the final song calls back to earlier songs as a good sendoff.
Halfway through the final track when the strings came in was also really good as it gave the song more speed which I thought was something the OST needed dearly to give it more variety. I think more speed somewhere else in the OST would have been good though to really make it feel more complete. When all the songs have the same structure of buildup, it makes it feel less like an OST and more like a bunch of takes on the same idea.
The tracks were still good and varied enough, but their overall structure felt a tad too similar, at least to me in the context of trying to make a full OST.
I really like your storytelling through music as well as the atmosphere you've created with your soundtrack, however the nearly exact same melody and the same chord progression throughout all the tracks gets repetitive very quickly especially since your tracks are quite long (even if its meant as a sort of leitmotif). The last track i think would also benefit greatly from a different drum sound (a more fuller one) - it sticks out a bit when the rest of your sounds fit so well together.
