Description
The Fable of Cásmanth is a collection of four compositions that tells the story of the conquest of a long-fallen kingdom, and it's ultimate fall. It survives now in the form of a fable about opportunism and estrangement, that highlights the senselessness of war.
For this jam I wanted to experiment with combinations of instruments from different parts of the world learn more about them individually, but also how to make them work together. The most prominent instruments used in these pieces are the duduk, qanun, tar, sarod and xiao

This is a really nice soundtrack!
The story in these tracks is palpable; the way the melodies flow tells a very dark story of war, and at the very end the fall of Cásmanth.
The instruments from around the world actually work together very well, sounding as if they were always meant to be paired together :D
I wish you luck in this jam, and a great rest of your week!
The Fable of Lost Cásmanth: The expressiveness of this track is quite remarkable. I feel as if I am in an old town and I am listening to live players. This is a great initial track setting the harmonic and instrumentation identity of your OST.
Conquest: I am impressed with how you were to convey such intensity with otherwise fairly modest instruments. Using techniques like tremolos and variation in dynamics was very skillfully done here!
The Red Assailant: The highlight of this track in particular for me was the quality of the mixing. The heaviness of the drums and bass and even the snare are fully present, but they in no way compromise the delicate sound of the melody. Very high quality!
Cásmanth’s End: The grief and emotion is palpable in this track. The building emotion and swells work well as a climactic piece. While I was expecting a more resolute ending, I think your given conclusion that feels a little unexpected is probably much more realistic for how most things come to an end.
I think that your idea to take a collection of instruments that are typically not found together and create new music out of them is a wonderful way to develop new sounds for an imagined world/land. The result feels both new and distantly familiar, but most importantly it feels authentic. This was a wonderful soundtrack that very clearly told a story, almost more like movements or chapters rather than separate levels. Great work on this and thank you for sharing your music!
Yeah experimenting with new styles and instruments is what OST jam is all about!
No track overstayed its welcome and they were varied which is good to make sure the listener is engaged the whole time.
I think conquest was my favorite of the OST. It was the perfect length and really introduced how the OST was gonna feel in a great way.
Good work!
I love traditional instruments, especially those from Middle Eastern musical traditions, and they fit your world and the jam’s theme very well!It was a great musical journey.
Your choice for instrumentation is so interesting! I especially enjoy the percussive elements in Conquest and The Red Assailant. Your tracks inspire me to learn more about these instruments!
