  • Graphics : Good , but certain things could do a bit with a touch up or a variety , is EVERY map going to be a swamp?
  • GUI :
    • Had issues with capturing (Fullscreen / Windowed)
    • Trying to browse the options with controller was a PITA
    • Maybe an option to zoom in a bit, it can be a bit hard to see.
    • Certain things could be a bit clearer, either on placement or truncation
    • Certain icons (e.g. rope) are more or less guesswork on how long before they're good to go again.
      • Maybe a % display showing it's current charge?
  • Performance : Fine
  • Music / Sfx :
    • Music : Fine
    • SFX : Fine although many lack 'impact'
  • Gameplay :  Fine but is missing a certain je ne sais quoi , a chat member suggested impact frames maybe?
  • Misc Issues :
  • Notes :
    • The 'hand' pulling you back onto land is rather unclear it's not an enemy / attack
    • Maps really could do with more walkable area , it feels like trying to avoid mines constantly and tight-rope walking
    • Difficulty scaling is a bit of an enigma, RoR has the same problem.
    • Things on the player end don't feel like they get powerful or chaotic enough. RoR you get to a rather silly point where every bullet you shoot is 10 , which then explode, then spawn fireworks, etc.
    • The D-pad and Face button icons need a better distinction
    • Maybe a blacklist option for the nodes? Many roguelike/bullet heavens nowadays have a Blacklist / Reroll option as an upgrade.
    • Auto-aim (aim-assist) as an option for controller might be a good thing to think about adding for people who use them.
    • Bad Idea
    • I am a PROFESSIONAL
  • Final Thoughts : Overall while I do like it , it feels like it's missing something and could do with some more time in the oven. I'd like to check it out at a later point to see it in a more refined state.

Fun game! I spent about 20-30 minutes on it. Mostly played with the samurai. I liked the variety of enemies and that there were some minibosses in between that were tougher. The dialogue of the different characters was well written too.

I feel like you could actually make the combat more difficult, the player takes very little damage and oftentimes I could just stand still spamming my attacks and survive without problems. Without the fear of death it takes away from the tension of combat a little bit. I also felt like upgrades were a bit too frequent while mostly being stat upgrades which were difficult to notice. Maybe you could decrease the amount of upgrades while making them feel more impactful.

Overall a decent game, looking forward to see where it goes.
