I enjoyed your entry and found the world building very immersive, with that sense of adventure and mystery in the way you presented the action as a series of research projects. The concept of planets which are living organisms has always fascinated me, so you got me hooked from the beginning there. In your prose there are lots of details which make the narrative plausible, and the images are a nice addition. They feel a bit in a draft stage and lack lightning to perceive the creatures properly, but I understand that their obscurity is intended. The ending falls into the general question of the ethics and limits of science experimentation, and while it might be a well-beaten path, it is always valid and thought-provoking. Overall, an interesting short story.
This was interesting, as it gives off the classic sci-fi horror vibe, but then reveals that the entire planet was gestating an embryo and basically recontextualizes everything. The tension between Saelices' caution and Markham's arrogance, and how that hubris directly causes the extinction of not just an ecosystem, but what could have been a sapient species in the Fih, was realistic. The mental image of the planet collapsing in on itself while researchers flee is dark and morbidly entertaining, and the fact that they were basically drilling into a cosmic egg the whole time is haunting in a broader sense; it's about the cost of unchecked ambition, and how often we destroy innocent things simply because we refuse to look closer.

Great job!
Got some Subnautica vibes from this with the vents and the deep caverns with their large creatures 😀
I think the sort of "mission report" style you sued for this was a great choice and really gave a good sense of the world/story.
Good work!
Hey! There seems to be no files to view/download your submission materials and nothing on the project page itself, maybe you have downloads disabled?
