Improvement Summary
PENDULUM is a 15-minute 3D short horror game focused on psychological tension and atmosphere. I worked on the dark environment lighting, custom sound design, and player mechanics to create a compact, immersive experience. Looking for feedback on atmosphere, sound balance, and pacing! "Controls: WASD: Movement, F: Flashlight,Right Click: Zoom ,Alt + F4: Exit Game (Use after the credits sequence)"

Hey, not the biggest fan of horror games but this has some good things going for it. Atmosphere felt good, it was creepy and hard to see which I like. I appreciate you putting controls on screen and so that players can know what they can do. I do not have a very good pc but game was a pretty choppy for me, stuttering, not running well. Don't know if this is just me having a week computer or a performance issue in general.

Hello, thank you for playing the game. Since I developed the game using Unreal Engine, there may be optimization issues, and because it doesn’t perform the same on every computer, some players may experience lag.

So I'll start by admitting that I'm not the biggest fan of jump scares. I do enjoy psychological horror when I'm in the right mood/head space, but jump scares are just not my thing.

I wish there had been a start screen at the start of the game and a quit at the end of it. Having a pause button in game would have also been nice. Listing the controls in game would have been helpful. I kept feeling like I was missing something because I wanted to left-click to interact with things.

The atmosphere was creepy. Even before seeing the creepy doll, the place had an unsettling feel to it. You did a good job with it, leaving me feeling like there was something always just behind me or just out of sight. The jump scares still caused me to jump and curse at the screen.

It would have been nice if there had been a better indication of what the volume was going to be like. I turned my volume to what seemed like a reasonable volume based on the sounds I heard in the opening warnings part, but when I got into the game I didn't hear anything. I turned my volume up a little more, and thought I heard a few things, but still wasn't sure. Since I knew there would be jump scares, I didn't want to raise it too much, which was good because the first one was uncomfortably loud for me. I ended up turning the volume down some, to make the jump scares more tolerable, but I'm not sure if that resulted in missing other game sounds. I know loud sounds are a normal part of jump scares, but it can make the game harder to play when I can barely hear (or not hear at all) the quieter sounds while the loud sounds still feel uncomfortably loud.

I did appreciate the loud noise and jump scare trigger warnings. Knowing they were there let me get into the right head space. Even as it was, I don't know if I would have finished it if I didn't go into it knowing it was a fairly short game. The story was interesting enough, though definitely dark and went somewhere I normally tend to avoid. The way the story unfolded was fairly well done, not giving away too much at any time. It did leave me with more questions than answers, which works for this style of game. I just felt it leaned a little too much on the jump scares and not enough on everything else for my tastes.
