Amazing layout, great maps and the color scheme really elevates this scenario. The theme is fun and each location feels unique without becoming “too gonzo”. I liked how there were a lot of creatures and people unique to the setting while using standard stat blocks from the base rules. The only thing I felt was missing for a Shadowdark adventure was some more treasure and interesting items.
Thanks for the comment 🙏
Extremely cool ideas here: vulture dæmon tied up in a ball. Moustache mechanic. My personal favorite touch is: "Elf trapped inside crystal for 444 years. Grew butterfly wings and telepathy."
Love the vibes of this chaotic dream seance dance party! The graphic design is legendary, and the final adversary Mrepytun sounds awesome. Well-written location keys and GM guidance. I think the Anteater, Victoria, is my favorite of the characters in the module. Wonderfully dangerous and deadly adventure!
Thank you for the kind words 🙏 The Victoria and Sawara friendship is truly amazing and crosses the eons! Fun fact: Victoria’s name comes from the Victoria amazonica plant. I chose it to match her boat/hat :)
Many will praise the lush art or the clean, effective text. There is a lot of effort at work, and a pleasere in making finely crafted adventures, here. What i find even more astounding is how the Author saw the Realm of Dead as a post industrial landscape. One can learn and practice their skills on art and tesxtmanship, but good ideas like this are the raw material one can't do without if they want to really reach their audience heart.
Thanks for the comment 🙏 Yeah, I really wanted the Realm of the Dead to look more contemporary because I was inspired by the affirmation of the author Ailton Krenak that the indigenous people of the Americas already live in a post-apocalyptic world. Not very Appendix N for a reference, but I wanted to counterpoint views of authors like HP Lovecraft that put indigenous people as collaborators of eldritch begins, while in many indigenous cosmogonies, their religious practices is all about appeasing natural spirits and maintaining balance so the world can continue to exist
cultured reference and smart use of it!
All the individual elements of writing, layout, map, colour, vibes, etc. come together and play off each other like notes in a song, creating whole that is much greater than the sum of its parts. 👌
Thanks 🙏
