Tideheart Drift is about restoring light, color, and life to the ocean. The player guides a small reef fish through glowing currents, collects pearls, unlocks friendly sea-creature forms, and heals reef stages. The game is designed to feel calm, hopeful, family-friendly, and joyful instead of stressful.

The whole game is set underwater, with ocean currents, reefs, pearls, sea creatures, bubbles, beaches, and different ocean zones across the levels. The main character is a fish and the gameplay is built around drifting through the sea.

This project was built with AI assistance from ChatGPT/Codex. AI assistance was used for code and some of the visual design, The game uses HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Canvas, Web Audio API, PeerJS, and Google Fonts. No paid pre-made gameplay asset pack was used.

Are you pivoting from another industry?
This game was in my queue so I didn't really look at your answers to the submission quesitons before playing but I noticed that the game looks and feels like it is made with AI. Be warned that a lot of developers and jam hosts are against the use of AI because making games is considered an art and using AI is well... not artistic I guess. I'm not sure about the attitude of this jam hosts, just thought I would share my experience.
The design is good although it is rare for a character to be controlled with mouse only. I'm curious what was the thought process behind this decision.
It is definitely a relaxing game but not so sure if it is uplifting. Maybe you need to add more "juice", "pizzazz" to it - to increase the satisfaction.... Hmm, well maybe it is unfortunate that games need to be such dopamine hits but as a gamer I can tell you without it feels flat.
I see you mentioned PeerJS and I'm curious - how is it used? Does the game have some sort of multiplayer?
