I really like this horror subgenre where you work a mundane job and occasionally something scary happens. This game did that formula really well!

There were a few really good jumpscares, and because those jumpscares were so good, it made me feel tense the rest of the time I was playing. I wasn't expecting segments in an apartment, so that was an exciting twist on the usual retail horror game, and I loved seeing variance in the kind of tasks the player was doing at work.

I had some issues with the game once I got to the driving portion - I appreciate that you included a "load game" function that restarted from checkpoints, as I don't think I would have been able to complete the demo otherwise. There was an issue with the people not speaking to me from their doors, and another issue at the very end where during the final "RUN" segment, I was able to hop in the truck and drive away. I couldn't do much driving away, but I definitely broke the sequence :P

I think the driving controls could probably be tweaked a bit - right now, the car controls feel remarkably like human controls. Making it so your car doesn't stop immediately after letting go of the move key would probably fix a lot of that funk!

I'm excited to see what a full game is like - This was super fun! I played the game here on stream around 4:19:50

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to actually play this game.  Once the game loaded in, the screen was moving around so much without even walking that I immediately stopped to avoid making myself or my viewers motion sick.  I would strongly urge you to either reconsider that being a part of the game or adding an option to turn it off.

  • Youtube Link / Twitch Link for Part One & Twitch Link for Part Two
  • Graphics : Generally fine
  • GUI : The NEW GAME being above Continue and with no safety feature to prevent accidentally restarting is a problem.
  • Performance : There was some issues , unsure where the issue lies.
  • Music / Sfx :
    • Music : Absent.
    • SFX : Mostly fine.
  • Gameplay : Convenience Store Horror Game.
  • Misc Issues :
    • Mouse capture seems weird , cursor can disappear.
    • Rewatching the footage , the game's capture was exceedingly poor. [Seemed mostly fine on my end , with some issues with stuttering or other weird framerate hitches.
    • It seemed like an NPC walking near the bathroom door pops up the 'open door' prompt
    • Dialogue options are unable to be clicked on throughout it's entirety , it's got dead zone
    • You can be 'teleported' / Moved by the cigarette man.
  • Notes :
    • Cited as using no AI but that font looks sus.
    • Great Value™ Cereal
    • There could be a little minigame for checking out , bagging and giving change.
    • The broom is held in a rather strange manner.
    • There was an issue when streaming where it had to be rebooted , hence 2 parts
    • I accidentally restarted from an accidental misclick on New Game , I didn't want to replay everything up to the point where I was due to annoyance, so all feedback is based on what I experienced and nothing past said point of the game.
    • Jumpscare (And bug?)
  • Final Thoughts : Overall I didn't give the game as much time as I would've liked due to annoyance with streaming the game (Partly the fault of the game, partly the fault of external factors) , and due to accidentally starting a new game, as such I can't give as good of a review as I'd like , but for what I played it seemed fine if a little generic Itch.io genre horror.
