Got to the room with the train, assumed it was meant to be a hazard to be dodged as you made your way through the room only for the other end to not have anything in it, so I stopped playing... but apparently reading the limitation description here it was meant to be a bossfight? I never thought to attack it so I have no idea what it would've looked like as one or whether this game actually has a proper ending afterwards.
Love the character art, and the writing is well done and helps establish the setting very well. The sounds and visuals on the train were also really well done and super creepy... which all the fear then immediately fell flat as the extremely calm and peaceful music from the overworld continued playing the entire time I was being chased by the train, it would've worked much better if the music faded out I think. The creepy screeching sound also stopped after about a minute - it doesn't seem to have been set up to loop correctly. Neither was the music, which very abruptly snapped back to the beginning at a seemingly random point.
The metroidvanianess of this feels a little iffy. There are upgrades, and they unlock new areas... but you don't actually get any of them through exploration, just through grinding out scrap metal to craft them. It left the two halves of the equation feeling rather disconnected and I don't think the end result felt like it achieved that metroidvania ethos.
