Some questions regarding the guidelines

Hi! I really like the concept of this jam!

but some things are not clear to me from the description:

  • is the game required to run on a real famicom?
  • if it's not, does it have to look like a famicom game?
  • and if it's not required to run on a real famicom, what does "the organization will produce a cartridge and box for the winning project" imply? don't the cartridges already exist?

also, I found and joined your discord server but there don't seem to be any information or mention of this jam. Will you enable a channel to discuss and collaborate?

Hi! The game you create doesn’t need to be an actual Famicom game, or have 8-bit aesthetics. That’s simply the format of the Famicase Exhibition, where participants submit fake Famicom labels that are exhibited using real cartridges as canvases.

The winning project will be turned into a physical mock-up using a real Famicom cartridge, featuring the winner’s custom label and box.

Hi Tacochan,
As darumastudio said there are no rules about running in a famicom or be developed in a 8-bit aesthetic. We have updated the text of the jam to be more clear.
About the discord, we don't have a discord for this jam, sorry
