Hi there! I was playing your game on stream and we all got curious: is the artwork in this game made using AI or is it human made?

Developer

Hi hythrain! Thank you for playing my game.  It's a bit of a passion project. I'm sad I missed your stream, I'm sure it was droll. Is there a way to access it still? To answer your question - The artwork in this game is, well, pretty much both. The process is, I sketch out ideas out on paper, take pictures and use an AI for a clean colouration and suggestion of improvements so it looks decent. Like with this adventurer dwarf.  Did that for all ingame art ( aside from the small pixel sprites ) It was a lot of fun and an exciting experiment on top of my long standing fantasy world  : )  My main focus was trying out a hyper-simplistic rock-paper scissors - based combat system ^^

So basically, you do the initial drawing and then have AI deal with the colouring. That explains a lot. When I was playing it, both myself and chat felt like it was AI and yet we also felt like it wasn't because things were too consistent. If you're drawing the outlines and AI is colouring it, that makes a lot of sense then because the outlines are what helps it feel consistent, while the colouring and the "motion" are why it feels AI.

The VOD will be posted ASAP on my YouTube page. When it's ready, I plan to come back and share the link with you. I just need to get my VOD backlog fixed.
