How did you implement the Theme: Frozen Heart in your game?
The protagonist can choose to freeze his heart in exchange for being righteous, or thaw it to be free.

Did you implement any of the Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
Yes, all three.
1. The protagonist is a rigid kid who obeys rules, and often put others before himself. In the game's context, one ending requires him to follow his heart.
2. There is a giant frozen heart in one room which can melt or freeze. In one ending, the heart fully melts and reveals something inside.
3. In one level, the protagonist must find an item in the room without sliding off onto the damaged floor, resulting in his death.

Does your game contain AI-generated assets?

No

I really liked the worldbuilding and general freakiness. The art style for the characters is so cute and it makes the ghost(?) designs a lot creepier. Great job on this :) !

Thank you so much. I had fun playing your game!

I can definitely see the design coming together! Very interesting elements and a good emphasis of cold-hearted emotions and frozen feelings!

The one thing that I would provide some suggestion on is breaking up the long dialogue segments into more gameplay activities. It's fine to have it be almost purely dialogue if you're going for the visual novel, but for me I found myself occasionally skipping some dialogue because I was starting to get impatient. I've got ADHD and I'm not that much of a reader, so this kind of game just isn't my cup of tea, but I can still tell you put a lot of hard work into it, and if it's heading in a direction you like, than I encourage you to pursue it!

Thank you for the advice! I’ll definitely improve on that for the final build ^o^

Love the Idea and world building ^^, the characters and the cold heart in the title was amazingly drawn, loved the characters sprite work :3

Where I'm standing: As someone who designs narrative systems and writes interactive fiction, I look closely at how jam entries leverage limited scopes to build an immersive emotional state. Salvation of the Righteous enters the space with a RPG Maker setup, but its rough, half-baked state and heavy technical friction make it an exercise in frustration.

Theme —

The game technically engages with the jam's "Frozen Heart" theme through its mechanical conceit, along with hitting the bonus challenges like the melting ice room and the thin ice tile navigation. But that doesn't make it land; the implementation feels tacked-on and abstract rather than woven into the emotional spine of the experience.

Creativity —

Unfortunately, the actual execution leans so heavily on standard engine tropes and clumsy puzzle logic that it completely flattens any inventive spark.

Presentation —

A messy visual and technical presentation makes the whole package look and feel jarringly unrefined.

Gameplay —

Actively painful to play. It feels less like an interactive game and more like a buggy developer build dumped before it was ready.

Story —

The framing device has dramatic potential on paper. In practice the narrative is a disjointed mess of placeholder dialogue and abrupt leaps that leave zero emotional resonance.

Horror —

Zero dread or atmospheric tension.

Overall —

A deeply frustrating, half-finished jam entry.

It is indeed unfinished, as stated in the description. Thanks for the feedback!

Even your reviews are AI slop 🤣
