this was really fun, very good game feel on the mining. The graphics are very polished. The movement is a bit shaky sometimes, which makes the camera shake as well. But other then that I enjoyed digging up those hidden collectables! (ps. fun way of finding fellow dutch indies!)

I had a lot of fun exploring, but for some reason in the browser version it wouldn't actually capture my inputs, so I'd press buttons and it would also wiggle my entire browser tab. I finally reach the digging stuff up point and the keyboard commands ended up just.... Backing out of the entire screen u.u

That said! I did have a lot of fun! The music was great, and all the interactions felt tight and crisp.

Developer

I noticed that too :( Thought it was an issue specific to my Firefox. Were you using the right Ctrl button? In full-screen and using spacebar it seems fine. Or just the desktop version :) Anyway thanks for playing!

I really struggled to find enough gems to unlock the next tool. Im not sure if im stupid or missing something? The tile based targetting/movement system is neat, however I managed to clip through walls a few times. I like the visuals and chill gameplay  and music. I think maybe there should be extra gems so you can miss a few and still be fine.

Developer

You're probably right, haha!

I absolutely flattened that landscape! Destroyer of ecosystems, leveller of walls. Satisfying harvesting crunch to those SFX. The ending was great.

I loved the style and idea. well done. I found it very hard to find enough diamonds to unlock the next tool. I got the pickaxes and then I searched the entire map multiple times…and finally gave up, being 1 diamond short for the next tool. either mark the diamonds on the map, or add a compass or add more diamonds….

anyways, well done!

Developer

That's fair! Pretty much all gold/diamonds are visible either in a building or visible from the road. Which tool tier are you currently on, because I could mark them on the map for you?

I have the pickaxe (2nd tool), and got the map and the key. I guess next I have to go to the guy that wants rocks.

One of the gameboy souls capturing games by style. Love it!
only thing that is bothered me is that wen you walk camera is jiggling , but thats i guess is the limitation of gameboy accurate  not being able to halves of pixels

Developer

Thanks for playing! That is indeed the reason, but perhaps next time we can scroll the camera in sections instead of it following the player to the pixel. You live, you learn! :)

Cute little game, enjoyed playing.

But contains more than four colors due to some antialiasing or so.

Developer

You have anti-aliasing in this game? Interesting. May I ask which browser you're using?
Anyway thanks for playing!

When I make a screenshot and I zoom in, you can actually see the soft edges. With that, you get different colors.

I've tested it with Chrome on macOS.

I also just did the same with our own game, we have hard edges. So I don't think it has something to do with my browser or so. :)

nay, they valid, no antialising that i saw

I think it depends on the browser. however there are some sub-pixel movements:

but hey: technology! I wouldn’t grade this down because of that, the intention was clear - there was no smuggling in more colors to make it look better.

congrats to the game again!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the sub-pixel movement is a quirk of the engine (Clickteam Fusion) exporting to HTML that I couldn't fix. The Windows build should be pixel-perfect.

I spent way longer just mining than I thought I would

Developer

Half of my playtesting was literally just this :P
