I'm wondering if there's maybe a mechanic I missed, since there are a handful of coins and some platforms that seem unreachable, and I hit a dead end in the forest level. I really like the music, and the palette swap for a different level theme is very fun! Some additional notes:

  • The main menu has mouse controls, which is not a valid game boy control :)
  • When you get going up to speed for the camera to move, the smoothing causes your sprites to be drawn at non-integer positions, which causes it to have an effect losing its crispness. You can combat this by ending every update loop with rounding the position of your camera and your sprites, even if you have to store it back into a float. I'm not sure how Unity does this, but I wonder if that's also responsible for the artifacting of text on the screen.
  • I'm not sure if this is intentional, but it took me a few plays to realize you could walk over floors in the first level, but jump to fall through them.
  • I think even some simple sound effects for picking up coins or maybe jumping would really help round things out

Overall, great job!

Oohh the forest level was really tricky! I love the effect on the graphics looking kinda distorted. The music was great too!

Great game for a basic platformer. Though I got stuck in the jungle part due to a invisible wall or something. Also it would be better if there were more coins to collect.
