How does your game meet GBJam's theme
my game was inspired by the anime i watch: One Piece. i had an idea of swapping the roles between the marines and the pirates

There are some issues with the gameplay such as pirates being able to damage you even after they die and your attack speed being generally inconsistent.

Having no continues or lives (not to be confused with health) seems rather punishing but the game itself isnt too difficult nor lengthy, so I can excuse that.

The music was pretty good, and the graphics are alright. The cutscene at the beginning was pretty funny too.

I really like the color pallet and art. Nice cut scene at the beginning! Funny premise!

Being sent all the way to the beginning feels pretty punishing and the blind jumps on the second stage don't help with that either but good job finishing and submitting a game!

Thanks, it was inspired by that one game i played: Castlevania: The Adventure and Castlevania: Belmont's Revenge

Maybe I didnt get far enough but I didnt really see the connection to the theme. I loved the music and graphics are really charming, particularly the opening cutscene. The gameplay felt a bit stiff and slow, and I found that I was having to basically walk the character off of one ledge to get to the next, which doesnt feel great. Great job getting it put together in time though!

ah, thanks, i thought the theme was pirates, because of the picture so i thought of an idea about swapping the roles of pirates and marines, which was funny to be honest
