How does your game meet GBJam's theme
In addition to treasure hunting, we thought it would be fun to explore the physical properties of gold. You use the element itself in neat ways through metalworking machines to try and collect as much as possible and get rich!

Fun concept! I wouldn't have figured out the rewind mechanic if I didn't see some of the previous comments. Maybe I missed a sign somewhere. Needing to create the tools you need for clearing the puzzle and progressing is quite fun.

I really liked this game, but I agree with some of the other comments- I got deep into a puzzle and could not rewind far enough to regain resources necessary to complete the level, which was a bit of a shame. I thought the mechanics were fairly solid, and the theme interpretation was very clever and unique!

Very good puzzles, maybe it's a bit overcomplicated to navigate in the UI to swap objects, but it's because of the Game Boy control limitations in my opinion. I would have made a simple press of a button that swaps to the next object in the list to fix that. Also for the rewind feature, I think I would have replaced it with a simple reset at each level, by making sure you also control the amount of resources the player has for each level and reset them properly.

The theme is 200% respected and prefectly used, I like the music that evolves when you turn on the machines, and for me it really is a Game Boy game in the spirit!

Really enjoyed this turn-based puzzle game. The first jam game to make me use my brain this much XD. It was very good, loved the Art, the music, and it felt like a Gameboy game.

I got stuck pretty far in and couldn't find a way to restart the level, since the rewind feature wouldn't go all the way back. Having a quick restart button would be a nice addition. Great game overall!

I love how you've really explored the depth of the gold milling mechanic! I'm also really impressed by the rewind feature, that works so well for the most part. I think there's only a couple things I want to note, and they might not even be real issues:

  • I'm not sure if the rewind feature is intended to allow this, but if I stepped on a conveyor that took me to a pit, I could rewind to a point on the conveyor belt and stand there, and walk off of it in another direction. I was able to use this to bypass at least one puzzle. Disregard this if that's literally just the intended solution.
  • I reached a point shortly after getting the ability to split gold into wires where I don't think I had the resources to solve the puzzle, or I was just missing something, but I'm not able to return to a previous room. Again, if that just skill issues, disregard.

Job well done!

I'm impressed with how polished this game is! The puzzles can be real head scratchers, but I enjoyed the difficulty.
