Nice little contained adventure, well done on the small scope. Really enjoyed the overall tricks you had here, the only “bad” thing I could is that having items that only show up in one form could lead you do double scan the whole play area, because you missed a spot with the wrong form. Other than that it was well though out, next time make the platform move the player as well!

Graphics wise the game has a nice spritework, cool little touch with the sweating push animation and enviroment design.

sfx and music were okay, I do wish the form change was not such a high pitched noise though!

Overall a cool little contained experience, well done!

I liked this a lot, and the way you handled the theme into the gameplay elements was creative as well. Presentation-wise this looks and feels genuinely Game Boy, well done!

Sometimes we remember the old times. brings us back to past to relive it. Great mechanic to switch from old to young and back again to solve puzzles. music is also good with the game

This game is going to make me cry 😭

First of all the graphics are really charming and easily one of the most polished out of the entries I’ve played so far.

The time swapping feature is a really neat mechanic. I like how there were several use cases for it.

Lastly, this is one of my favorite takes on the theme. What better way to make an Old Gold-themed GBJAM game than making the Gameboy itself “the” Old Gold.

Congrats on the entry!

Wow, thank you! I'm so happy you enjoyed our game!  You guys made quite the entry yourselves. Cheers!

The time-switch mechanism is super nice. I liked the small detail where the character moves better when they are younger. You did great, and I really liked the soundtrack!

I loved the game!! The graphics are amazing and it's a very good platformer! I think this is the best game I played of the game jam. Congratulations for all the work, you did such an amazing game!

Very very solid jam entry, such a nice story and the visuals are really nice too! Managed to get through all three levels and had a good time :) Creative way with the switching between young and old, and the music was also great!

Hey, thanks for playing! We're glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!

I was having trouble understanding what to do until I realised you can switch between young and old version. The game became very fun after that and I completed it. One of the best entries imo.

Glad you were able to figure it out, bit hard to tell right off the bat! Thanks for playing!

My absolute favourite game so far, I adore the idea and execution! I my only gripe is that there is no pulling mechanic for the box so you can soft-lock yourself by pushing it all the way to a corner when you needed to go the other direction (happened to me on the third level).

Otherwise I loved the bold spritework and the driving music. I appreciated the attention to detail in making each character feel unique between the mechanics, animations and abilities. I flashed a smile when I realised the younger version could jump much higher, it's the small things that make you connect with the game in a deeper level. By the end when you're switching mid-air it has a great game-feel. If you guys ever feel like expanding it into a full game please make a ROM so I can play this on hardware.

Great job!

We're so glad you enjoyed! Pulling boxes isn't a bad idea; we ended up just adding a reset button to the menu, in case players need it. And who knows, maybe we'll bring it back after the jam, too!
