Space Mart is a post-collapse interactive fiction web game.
What started as a side quest to learn more about coding and game dev has grown into something playable:

Current Playable Demo Features: Player enters Space Mart to find an all-knowing clerk. Player asks clerk questions and gets smart-*ss answers. A few questions though, without giving too much away, will lead into other areas of the store. One area in particular is an image/text based adventure game with 108 doors which will in the next chapter with many more storylines and found items.

Future features: vending machine, crafting bench for found items, player inventory & currency systems.

Platforms: Web/In-browser Game - HTML5/JS/CSS.

Tools I'm using: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Hermes w/Grok and Claude doing most of the code and some planning.

Developer: I'm Astradamus. My background is 20+ years of physical/digital art. I created this alias to dive back into digital world building with AI. Code has always been my biggest bottleneck, so I'm looking forward to experimenting and seeing what I can ship. This is purely a hobby project; I truly enjoy learning/using new tech and creative writing (aka, i'm not quitting my day job, which I also love).  Follow my dev quest thru my socials: X.com and Reddit

If this seems interesting to you, and you have a little time to try out the demo/prototype, please give it a try via the link below and let me know what you think. The most valuable feedback besides overall vibes, is the bathroom game, so if you just want to skip straight to that and lemme know what you think, that would be most helpful for designing/writing the next chapter(s) Thank you in advance!

Next update: will probably be the vending machine - I've already built a mock-up version, but now I'm just working on the specific items/assets and stylizing everything. Stay tuned, and if you made it this far, thank you!! -A-

tried the bathroom path! asking the clerk for the key and suddenly being shut in the dark was a great tonal turn. i laughed at “you choose to believe it is slime.” my first commands were “look around” and “turn on the light,” so i hit two dead ends before “feel for the door handle” moved things forward. is there a clue to the first useful verb that i missed?

I have been debating taking out the extra step to get to the light as it does kill the momentum a bit. The flashlight part needs a little cleaup too, not sure if you had any issues with that? Appreciate you taking the time to check it out and leave some feedback! Life has been pulling me in other directions lately so i havent had much time to develop the next chapter, but I am still actively writing. Cheers!

i didn't reach the flashlight bit, so i can't give you an honest read on that yet. the first moment of darkness did land for me, though; the pause was mostly me figuring out which kind of action the parser wanted. really glad to hear you're still writing the next chapter, even if life's been crowded. cheers!
