I usually take no more than 2-3 days on larger illustrations but with character sprites it would most likely be faster. My commission prices usually range between 70-100 GBP per piece but I can price things based on batches (like one character and all their sprites!)

Position: Character artist. Open to discussing backgrounds as well.

Rates, per character, including six expressions and the commercial licence:

• Flat colour with light shading: $200

• Fully rendered: $400

• Additional expressions $25, outfit variations $70

I would rather price the first character, then quote the rest of the cast once we both know how the style is landing.

Turnaround: around two weeks for the first character while the spec and style get locked, faster after that.

On style: you said you want something distinctive rather than generic anime. That is the part I would point at. My work is moody, high-contrast and saturated, and reads illustrative rather than standard VN-anime. I do not really have a second style to offer you.

One thing worth saying plainly: my experience is in illustration rather than sprite production, so I would want your technical spec up front — resolution, crop, anchor point, how many expression slots per character. Happy to work to whatever your engine needs.
