I liked the robot-building mechanics and the whole cyberpunk factory vibe. The sound effects and animations make it feel really nice too. Great work, especially for a first jam game!
Thank you for playing, and I’m glad you enjoyed it!
A game where you assemble robots (or take a part in that, at least). The premise is more classic SF than Cyberpunk. I doubt that's the only job left in the entire world for all of humanity. Nobody wants to do science, or art? No human priests, therapists, singers, politicians, influencers, managers, CEOs, undertakers?
The factory sounds were on point, moreso the animations of the robotic systems. Great depiction of a dystopian SF environment, but more "industrial" than "style over substance, combined with Neon". While all the mechanics are working, the gameplay of the game is work in itself. It is some sort of "factory (without belt) simulator" which demonstrates that factory work is not fun. Understood. There is no story progress, no conflict, no incentive to find out whether this may arrive later or not.
There are players who like to play a "<whatever> simulator" (washing, cleaning, driving, cashier, store manager etc.) I am not among them, so while I applaud to the technical achievement of the game, it was no fun for me.
Thank you for playing, I suppose.
I don’t know, in my opinion it’s cyberpunk - just dirty, not shiny. As for the game’s story, that’s precisely the point - it’s the FINAL JOB, and cyborgs have gradually replaced all humans in the workforce.
I agree that the game turned out a bit confusing, but for two people it’s quite decent. In any case, this is my first jam, and I came more for the fun than for the victory.
GL to you!
