Field Notes: Grandfather's Zoo · bait wild animals, catch them alive, rebuild the zoo (free, browser)

Hi! I'm a solo dev in Korea, and this is my first game.

Your grandfather went missing and left you a zoo gone to seed and a field guide with its back pages torn out. You put down bait, crouch in the grass, and catch Korea's wild animals alive, one species at a time: water deer, leopard cats, cranes, otters. Every new species gets a pen, visitors start coming, and each page you fill brings one of his letters pointing somewhere new.

What's in the free build:

  • 57 Korean species: 43 on land, 6 fish, 8 endangered
  • a zoo you fill pen by pen, a shelter where endangered animals recover, and an island where they go to live
  • rare colour variants, a dog that follows you around, fishing, weather and day and night
  • Korean and English, plays in the browser, nothing to install

A Steam version is in the works, and the next chapter is planned for it.

What I'd most like to hear is where it gets boring for you. Comments here or F2 in the game both work.
