Hi everyone! I’ve just released the free web beta of Emoji Trail.

You get emoji clues and a bank of words, including a few distractions. Build a sentence that tells the story. It starts gently, then adds connected scenes, event order and familiar English sayings.

There are 120 story puzzles across six worlds, 12 bonus challenges open from the start, and three short tutorials. No timer, lives, download or signup. You can play alone or take turns on one device. Progress is saved in your browser.

Play here: https://elka96.itch.io/emoji-trail

Try “Challenge me” on the home screen for the trickier puzzles. I’d love feedback on whether the clues feel fair—especially if you make a natural sentence that the game rejects. Please include the puzzle title and your sentence so I can check it.

Tried Challenge 1, "Two very different afternoons", in the browser. "The cat is sleeping while the dog is chasing butterflies" was accepted. The two separate emoji lines made the roles clear, and the explanation after solving it was useful rather than just a green tick.

One tiny first-run snag: the challenge picker says "Equivalent sentences count", but the puzzle immediately asks for a 10-word story. I wasn't sure whether there was room for different phrasing or only a different order. A short example of an accepted alternative would make that promise easier to understand.

The cat has the better afternoon, obviously :)

hi,

I improved the game and now the sentences make much more sense.

They are also organized in four different levels of difficulty.

Please try again.

 🙏

Retried v1.3. The numbered scenes and "build every word from one word bag" are much clearer about what the player is meant to do.

One exact edge case from "A rainy trade": I entered "When rain starts, the girl gives her umbrella to the boy carrying the cake, then shelters beneath a tree." It was rejected. The reveal used "carrying a cake" and "beneath the tree" instead. Same 19 words and story, just the two articles swapped.

If those variants aren't accepted, it might help to explain that the sentence needs the exact article order, or accept both. I used the reveal for this one, so I'm not claiming a clean solve.

will be improved!

fixed. In case of sentence with small almost meaningless ambiguity both sentences approved.
