How did you incorporate the theme?
It's like nonsense on a high mind... but more seriously I had some more symbolic ideas that I wasn't able to fully execute with the time I allowed myself.
The idea was to give you options that could reflect how you project yourself in this weird place, and that those options would perhaps culminate into something.
It would all be fruitless, but you'd be left to make of it what you will, in a kinda optimistic nihilistic way, if I had executed it lol.
If you did one or more of the challenges, what did you do?
As aforementioned I had more goals for this that would have mostly been related to "Self Portrait" but I did also try experimenting with the art style here.
As for 'For the Movement' I'm not sure if it's related to one, nor was I actively thinking about it, but I was inspired (clearly) by those early 2000s~ RPG Maker games that were mostly pixelated but used crusty jpegs of more 'realistic' images, giving it a kinda off-putting vibe. Honestly I spent half my time just messing around with overlaying textures.

Art style is great, I really like the pseudo 2D stuff.
As for theme, I think I get it, but can't be sure. so I think that means you nailed it.
I think the biggest letdown was the abrupt ending.
Playing multiple times to figure out the choices was also a nice touch.
I really liked the art. AND the idea that your choices at the beginning affected the level.
The feel reminded me a bit of Donnie Darko, which was fun. I’d be interested in seeing how the game progresses.
The rooms were interesting, and I didn’t feel like they were repetitious. I did like how the travel was shortened after reaching the goal. It cut out backtracking which would have slowed the game down. The changes also added to the surrealism of it.
Great Job!
very weird game (in a good way) . ive never played yume nikki but if you asked me to recreate it i would probably come up with something like this
