Looking for playtesters for an early 2D arena roguelite - Scrapbound

Hi! I'm looking for a few people to test a very early build of my 2D top-down arena roguelite, Scrapbound.

The game is still at the prototype stage, so the visuals, balance and amount of content are not final. Right now I'm mainly trying to find out whether the core gameplay loop, combat, progression and shop are fun and understandable.

I'm looking for around 5–10 playtesters.

A test should take roughly 15–30 minutes, followed by a short feedback form.

I'm especially interested in:

  • how the movement and combat feel,
  • whether the first few minutes are understandable,
  • whether the progression systems make sense,
  • whether the shop creates interesting decisions,
  • where the game becomes boring, frustrating or confusing,
  • and whether you want to start another run afterwards.

You don't need to be experienced with roguelites. Feedback from both genre fans and newer players is useful.

If possible, please play before reading too much about the mechanics. I want to see what the game communicates on its own.

There is a short feedback questionnaire linked directly on the game's itch.io page.

Thanks to anyone willing to give it a try - honest criticism is very welcome.

Hi SpaceAndFrogs — I’m with NextGenRunGames and I’d be glad to try one of the 15–30 minute Windows slots if they’re still open. I can focus my notes on how the first minutes teach movement/combat and whether the progression and shop choices read clearly, then send the form. We’re also making Spirestorm, an action roguelite, so I’d be happy to return the favor with a playtest if useful. Are you still looking for testers?

Hi NextGenRunGames - I'd be very grateful for your feedback on my game prototype. And of course, I'll return the favor.

Everything about getting started and the testing form is described at https://spaceandfrogs.itch.io/scrapbound .
