Honestly overall I really enjoyed the flow and pacing of the story, subtle foreshadowing, nice prose, and it feels cohesive. Lenore definitely comes through really well, while in my opinion Orin feels (in the beginning) kind of stale slightly? But that is more of a nitpick than anything else.

Positives:

1. The characters themselves interacting feel cohesive.

2. I can tell you did some major research and if not you could fool anyone lol (the Ars Goetia style entry made me genuinely surprised.)

3. The color scheme and scenes look really well done in my opinion. They work well with the stylistic choice you guys went with and even though personally I wouldn't choose it myself, it works amazingly.

My issues (Purely my opinion):

1. In one of the earlier scenes a light looks WAY too close to Orin and Lenore's hands and Orin's face. It blows out a lot of subtle detail and is slightly distracting in my eyes maybe tweaking the radius could help.

2. Orin... in some close-ups he triggers my uncanny valley sense like something about his face gives ET vibes, but could purely just be a personal preference.

3. In the ritual scenes, I personally didn't like the fact that the light effects did not influence the environment lighting. Also on the full like light up sequence, the light beams go over the ottoman or something in the bottom left, which I blatantly noticed outright which broke a bit of the immersion. (Again I am a huge continuity nerd and it could just be an artistic choice.)

4. Lenore's arm in a few spots seems to clip into her body. Again just my opinion but just something I couldn't unsee once I saw it. (when she appears to put her arm behind her back early on)

5. A small thing, the music and sound effects are good but a tad loud, maybe like 1-3 Db too loud? but an easy fix with the volume sliders. As I said a really small thing to maybe learn from in the future.

Overall however I genuinely enjoyed your writing and visuals and the 3D workflow is nice to see. I cannot wait to see how you guys continue the story. <3 HAPPY HALLOWEEN and GREAT JOB!

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback and for giving our game a chance! As for your issues, I will firstly offer a blanket admission - We were working at break-neck speed and had to surrender some of the frames to the god of necessity.

1- This was the first scene we ever put together, I really dislike almost everything about it and agree about the lighting. We're constantly updating the game and intend to go over some of the things we're unhappy with before the full episode 2 release.

2- You know, my counterpart dev very much agrees with you on this one.

3-4- Yeah. I think there are so many little things I will be fixing up in the coming weeks. Thanks for pointing them out.

Overall, as new devs, we just tried to play to our strengths, which were the visuals, design and hopefully the writing. I'm so glad to see you responded to those aspects. As for our research, we really did consult a handful of books I happened to have in my library as well as various online resources. We wanted accuracy but not at the expense of the stories needs.  We had hoped that anyone familiar with ceremonial magick would be surprised by the authenticity of the ritual.  Thanks again for taking the time to play!

Of course and hey don't be too hard on yourselves. Honestly there is always room for improvement but overall, you delivered a cohesive, thought out, and well executed story and game. Nothing was fundamentally wrong or off, just small pieces of polish to elevate it. And I cannot wait to see part 2.

The models looked really awesome! They have a sort of telltale games look <3

The writing was really cheeky and charming as well.

Excited to for part 2 and to see what else you two do!

Thank you so much! We've heard that telltale comment a few times in the last few days. I've never actually played one of their games, I will have to check them out. Thanks for playing and taking the time to comment!

The music immediately puts you in the right mood to play, the visuals are captivating, and I really liked the 3D models and the setting you’ve created for the characters. The only thing I didn’t like as much is that in this first part of the game, you can’t make choices that truly affect the plot, but the storytelling was so engaging that in the end, I didn’t pay too much attention to it. I LOVED the chibi version of Lenore and all the information she gave us about the ritual, she’s such a nerd. I can’t wait to play Part 2!!!

Thanks so much for the great comment! We really appreciate how much you liked the music choices and Lenore. We actually originally did have some more choices earlier on, but they weren't working for us so we removed them. All of our choices will significantly alter the plot for the endings, but you'll have to see in Part 2 how it all plays out! :) We look forward to hearing what you think of Part 2.
