Midnight Mystery Conspiracy

Hi everyone! I’m a solo developer working on Midnight Mystery Conspiracy, and I’d love to hear what fellow gamers think of it. The game has tested well on paid playtests (N=35) and now ready to open up a bit more. There’s 2 in-game feedback questions at 5 and 10 puzzles solved and a link to survey after 20.

It’s a word-network puzzle game with a cozy vibe where you connect words to form little stories, with the puzzles themselves arranged in a web of constellations.

“Explore a mysterious cosmos that takes you from everyday human experience into dreams, myth and conspiracy. Along the way, you’ll encounter strange devices and animal characters that may—or may not—help you on your journey.”

The prototype is free to play in a desktop browser:

If you give it a try, I’d love to hear what you enjoyed and anything you found confusing. Thanks for taking a look!

This is honestly beautiful, and such an easy way to spend a lot of time. It's relaxing, interesting with the characters that pop up and mentally engaging but not to the point of confusion and/or frustration.  There wasn't anything I found confusing, it was all explained perfectly and was intuitive. Great job!

Thank you very much for your kind words!

Just a very impressive game you've got going so far, nothing more to it!

I've got a small playtest of my own up at the moment if you would have time to take a look - all good if not though

sure, share the link and Ill have a look

Love it very addictive, a good variation on Tetris. My only comment at this stage until I play more is the upfront masses of text. I ignored all of it and started playing immediately with no issue. Well done!

this game is trully amazing and is trully great to help with brain function and applying logic and seeing pattern, the visual design is superb and and the calm ambiance is proper for the task, it would be cool to see it in other language and could have great potential for elderly people as well as young child, not to say it has no potential or fun factor for the rest of the people .

Really interesting and enjoyable game! I had a good time playing it. :)

As a native Spanish speaker with fairly limited English, I had no trouble understanding how to play. That said, adding some basic Spanish localization in the future would definitely be a nice touch!

The game also looks great visually. It's appealing right from the start.

My only small suggestion comes from being the kind of player who tries to explore absolutely everything.

I tried wandering beyond the visible area, but I quickly lost my sense of direction. I even managed to find a speck of dust out there! Haha.

I don't think a game like this necessarily needs a minimap, but perhaps a small directional arrow pointing back towards the main area, or some kind of indicator showing which direction you're heading, would be really helpful.

Overall, great work! I genuinely enjoyed it. Keep it up! :)

Thank you very much, glad I could offer you some fun! Glad to hear a non-native English speaker's POV. A full localisation would indeed be quite difficult as often the content of the puzzles would not easily just translate straight over. Other elements like dialogue, help and the like most certainly.
