I really enjoyed this one. The movement was quite fun to play around with. I also really like the greyscale newspaperish aesthetic. Super challenging to actually get the chips but thats part of the fun lol.

All your chip are belong to me

Fun movement takes a second  to get the hang of it but very satisfying when you do :)

Loved the little dialogue bit! Controls felt  pretty good, though I wished at the beginning it was a bit easier to get the hang of the controls at first but the more I played the more it clicked. Awesome visual style, loved the vibe!

Finally, the simulator we've all been waiting for! Loved the little interactions the NPC's had with the player, and the variety of NPC's too. The controls were easy to learn, and not too difficult to master, really did feel like you had to think like a bird and fly not too close, well played!

Hmm, perhaps a seagull made this game, it's too realistic.

I did find the warning systems for the NPC's a bit sensitive, if I'm flying at an NPC from behind them it felt like they had the same warning vision as if i was coming at them from the front, maybe a lower vision system for behind.

Loved it overall, a small 'bite' (wink) sized experience!

thanks for the feedback! glad you found the controls easy, I can neither confirm or deny whether a seagull was involved in the making of this game..
that's interesting  feedback for the NPC's, they do not have any vision from the back, but if you miss the chip and fly past them they will definitely see you. I'm wondering what situations you where in that made it seem as if they saw you from behind.

Thanks for giving it a go :D

Getting five chips taught me that a lot of being a seagull is waiting for the perfect opportunity and knowing your angles. Well done on this one Jamie, found the controls very loose at the beginning but came around on them after I got my first bag of chips. Music and graphics were a treat!

Developer

you are exactly right, seagulls are very tactical birds, glad you managed to get up to 5 chips! thanks for playing :D

[Duplicating rating here] Ha! Dig it. Took a bit of time for me to figure out what was required, the chips showing up clearly against a monochromatic backdrop helped me get there much quicker! Love the halftone pixel look and models, area reminds me strongly of Edinburgh boardwalk. Most I got were 3 chippies once I started getting the hang of things, takes some skill! Strong concept and funny idea. Allowed me to briefly be a chip-hunting single-minded seagull, and I think this is probably very much what that's like lol.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'm glad you mentioned Scotland lol, I based my art off of 1970-90 great britain. happy to provide you with the opportunity to become a pesky bird for a few moments :D

Great concept, and great art/ music/ sound effects. Very hard to figure out how to nab chips, but after watching the optional intro video and flying lower I finally got chips and then died! Haha addictive, try and try again.

Sorry you had a hard time figuring it out XD, I always underestimate how important sufficient tutorial material is in games. but I'm glad you got it in the end. thanks for playing :)

Enjoy this and think the controls were pretty intuitive. My only gripe is just that the space feels so limited and restricted, this would make an excellent endless runner if you could loop it in either direction, so you can really chain together dive and perches and get into a rhythm. Art is cool and the black & white visuals are really distinct

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'm happy you found the controls intuitive, that was one of my biggest worries with the game.  that is a good point, when I had people playtest, they also mentioned that point about restricted space. I agree it definitely could have been bigger. the endless loop might be tricky to pull off but its an interesting idea. breaking that rhythm does feel like its taking away from the experience.

MINE!!! MINE !!! MINE!!! MINE!!! The controls are a little tricky to get used to but once you do its super satisfying to swoop on in to grab a tasty chippy. Dig it!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you got the hang of the controls in the end :D

Heheee hell yeah, thanks for playing! I'm glad you like the visual style, its super fun to make. The intro was a last minute addition so I'm happy to see it added something lol.
