Ironfront: free strategy in your browser

Hi everyone! Ironfront is a free turn-based strategy game set in an invented 1940s world at war. It plays in your browser, no account and no download.

You lead one nation against 300 AI-controlled countries. To win, hold 2 of the 3 Capital Sectors at once. What makes it different is the battle layer: every tick of a battle is a decision.

  • Battle orders. A battle lasts three ticks. Each tick you pick Assault, Barrage or Flank (or Dig in, Counter-attack, Ambush when you defend). Guess the enemy's order right and you get +25% that tick.
  • Field works. Dig trenches, lay a minefield or pour a bunker before the enemy lands. Each takes 1 to 3 ticks, a race against the clock.
  • Radio intel and feints. Incoming armies show as radio traffic with a size estimate. A scan shows the real size. Your own attack can be a feint that looks three times bigger and turns back before it lands.
  • Allies have to be on time. Help that arrives after the battle starts counts half.

All nations, leaders and flags are invented and generated by the game. It is a solo hobby project, free to play, and made with AI assistance, which is disclosed on the game page.

One question for anyone who tries it: did the battle orders feel like a real choice, or like guessing? One sentence in the comments helps a lot.
