Hi everyone! We have just put up a free demo of Retro Game Collector Simulator, a hands-on 3D game about turning a cluttered basement into a retro game collection.
Play it here: https://nrnbgames.itch.io/retro-game-collector-simulator (Windows and Linux, free)

You open second-hand boxes of old games, tip them out on the carpet, look each one over, clean it up and find it a place on the shelf. Then you try to get one running on the CRT. That part is done by hand: you find the right power adapter and video lead, plug them in, and turn the TV's dial until a picture comes up.

The cartridges boot into short minigames made for this collection. There is also a game shop whose stock changes daily, and a video channel where you can film a review and read the comments the next morning.

The demo covers in-game days 1 to 5 with no real-time limit, and you can keep playing in your room after the day-5 summary. All the consoles and games are fictional parodies. Nine languages are included.
Two things we would love feedback on:
- Is hooking up the console by hand satisfying, or does it get fiddly?
- The Linux build has not been run on a native Linux system yet. If you try it, does it start?
The full game is planned for Steam, and the link is on the game page if you want to follow it. Thanks for taking a look!
