DON’T FOLLOW THE FLOWERS – survival horror in rural Britain

Hi everyone, thought I’d start a thread for the game I’m working on!

It’s called DON’T FOLLOW THE FLOWERS. I’m making it in Godot under Spare Match Games, and it’s set in rural Britain after an outbreak called the Bloom.

You scavenge supplies, craft equipment and build up your camp before heading out into the town. Exploring and solving environmental puzzles takes you further into what happened, with mutants and boss encounters along the way.

I’ve put together a trailer and some screenshots to show where it’s at. One of my favourite bits is using a fire arrow through a moving shutter to activate a relay—I’d like more puzzles where equipment has uses outside of fighting.

At the moment I’m looking at making the puzzle controls and interactable objects clearer, after some useful feedback on Reddit.

There’s no download yet, but I’m getting an early Windows build ready. If you’d be interested in testing it, let me know.

For transparency, I’ve used AI for artwork, cinematic clips, music and coding assistance. The gameplay footage and screenshots are captured from the game.

Which bit would you most like to try? Cheers!
