I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. At first I wasn't sure what to expect from the setting, but this surprised me really nicely. I loved the art direction, it feels incredibly polished for a jam game. I only went for one ending, but that's because the ending made me so sad that I wasn't sure I could do another one (I don't know if it's a good or bad ending, but I assume it's bad because my guardian was killed). I'll definitely replay it, I chose the jackal jar and chose to be very kind to my guardian, especially when I found out who they were. I'm looking forward to seeing what all of the other jars hold. The music felt subtle but very fitting, and the sound effects added a lot to the atmosphere. Overall, this felt very polished for a game jam novel.
Really great job!! The mythology is woven in nicely, and the cinematography of the first several scenes felt really strong and interesting - especially everything with the eyes. The character designs are incredibly cute, and in exploring their various paths they all felt nicely distinct and charming, with a fun mix of humor (I am soup!) and genuinely sweet moments that made the bad endings land in a very bittersweet way. I'll definitely be replaying once you add the fourth jar, and look forward to seeing more!! Huge congrats to the team.
The beginning is very strong and got me invested into the story immediately, the game is very cool. After so many Spooktober visual novels I can say that this is one of the greatest, the art feels really professional throughout, the characters are stunning and the writing awesome. The gore is great too, I loved all the endings (even tho they made me depressed). I hope you'll keep on making visual novels / games, maybe even continuing your Egypt saga since I'm a fan of Egyptian mythology (but anything else goes too)!
Yeah the anti-simp technology has taken out a lot of people. You need to hit a real sweet spot with the affection system to get the good endings.
The setting is interesting, i got scared multiple times during my playthrough because of it!
Was the glass smashing to loud? We tried to abstain from jumpscares. Thank you for playing!
