AntConquest (free browser ant colony strategy): feedback on the first minutes and balance

Hi! I'm the solo developer (creator) of AntConquest, a free browser strategy game where you grow and command your own ant colony: hunt for food, expand your territory, unlock research, trade and fight alliance wars against other players. It runs in the browser with nothing to download, and it's available in English and French. It's a young project, so honest feedback is very welcome.

Links: itch.io page https://antconquest.itch.io/antconquest | game https://antconquest.com/en/

Specific questions:

1. First 10 minutes: is it clear what to do first (hunting, building, expanding)? Where did you get stuck or confused?

2. Balance: does the early-game food and hunting pace feel too slow or too grindy?

3. Text and UI: are the English menus and labels clear? Any terms that need explaining?

4. Bugs: did anything break in your browser or on your device?

Thanks for any feedback, good or bad.

I couldn't figure out how to get the game in english, I kept having to use chromes built in translator

havent jumped in yet but sounds like the EN/FR switch is easy to miss, stonefox hit it too. maybe a small toggle by the play button or just default to the browser language?

Thanks both, that's really helpful. There's a full English version at https://antconquest.com/en/ (the language switch is the small flag menu at the top right, which I agree is too easy to miss). If you give it another try in English, I'd love to hear how the first few minutes feel.
