Looking for playtesters — Veil Warden, free browser tactical RPG

Hi everyone!

I've just released the pre-alpha of Veil Warden, my first indie game under Stone Fox Games.

It's a turn-based fantasy RPG where you explore mysterious Veils, fight creatures called Shades using swords or pistols, and recover Spirit Cores to upgrade your character.

The game is free and playable on desktop or mobile.

I'm especially looking for feedback on:

  • Whether combat is easy to understand and enjoyable
  • How the exploration and progression feel
  • Anything confusing, frustrating, or broken
  • Whether you'd want to keep playing as more content is added

I'm still learning game development, so constructive criticism is very welcome!

Thanks for checking it out!

The Spirit Core upgrade system sounds interesting! A short combat tutorial could help new players understand the sword and pistol mechanics. Are you planning different enemy abilities?

Thank you for the feedback! There will eventually be a short tutorial at the begining but for now I wanted to see if it was intuitive. There will be more enemies with different mechanics including multiple active enemies at once and a ranged variant.

I updated it with a tutorial, try it in an incognito window to see it before progress or click help and find it there
