[For Hire] [Unity] [C#] [Paid] Gameplay Programmer & Technical VFX Artist

Hi everyone! I’m Mayke (Mike) Rodrigues, a Unity developer with 5+ years of experience, currently available for freelance projects and short-term contracts.

I specialize in Unity/C# programming and Technical VFX, helping indie developers implement features, solve technical problems, and polish their games.

What I can help with:

  • Gameplay Programming: Mechanics, AI, combat systems, and interactions.
  • Technical VFX: Shaders, particles, Shader Graph, and stylized visual effects.
  • Tools & Editor Extensions: Custom Unity tools to improve development workflows.
  • Optimization & Debugging: Profiling, performance improvements, bug fixing, and code refactoring.
  • UI & Polish: UI implementation, visual feedback, animations, and gameplay feel.

I’m comfortable working with existing projects, implementing specific features, or tackling well-defined technical tasks from scratch. I work with both 2D and 3D projects.

Availability & Rates

  • Short-term contracts, feature-based work, and milestone-based projects.
  • Starting at $25 USD/hour; fixed-price projects are also welcome, depending on scope.
  • Paid work only — no unpaid work or revenue-share-only arrangements.

I’m fluent in English and a native Portuguese speaker.

If you need help with a Unity project, feel free to reply here or send me a DM with a brief description of your project, the tasks you need help with, and your budget.

Thanks for reading!

Hey Mike! Technical VFX plus gameplay programming is a great combo. I founded ComposerScout, a free site where indie devs post roles, and VFX artists and programmers who join get them in their inbox. It’s free to join, and I don’t take a cut of your gigs. We’d love to feature you there: https://composerscout.com/#edit
