Hi! I'm making Oddly Adorable, a little puzzle-platformer with cute animals and a path you can't quite trust. Move, jump, and see what the animals and scenery do next.

Play free in your browser: https://stellavale.itch.io/yilu-guai-keai

No download or game account needed. There are 22 short levels; English and Simplified Chinese are in Settings.

I'd love to hear how it feels to someone playing for the first time. What made you smile, confused you, or made you want to stop? Even one honest sentence helps, and there's no need to finish. Suggestions from casual players are especially welcome.

Keyboard: A/D or arrows to move; W, Up or Space to jump. Phone: landscape, left movement control and right jump button.

Reply here or on the game page, or email 454248700@qq.com if you don't have an itch.io account. Thanks for giving it a go!

Mobile update (29 Oct): Oddly Adorable is now also available as a free TapTap playtest. Open https://www.taptap.cn/app/970753 on your phone in the TapTap app and play in landscape. You no longer need to email me for test access. The browser link above is still available. If you try it, I would love to hear which moment was fun, confusing, or made you want to stop.

Update: loading recovery patch

I've updated the browser build with timeouts and retry handling for stalled level loading, plus clearer level numbers and loading messages. It's still the same first chapter with 22 levels.

Could a few casual players aged 18+ try it for 5–10 minutes? Play free here — click Run game. No account or password is needed to play. Stop whenever you want; you don't need to finish.

I'd especially like to know:

  1. Which level did you reach, and did the controls/tutorial make sense?
  2. Which surprise felt funny or unfair, and when did you want to stop?
  3. If loading or controls failed, what level and device/browser were you using, and what happened after Retry?

Reply in this topic or on the game page (itch.io login required to comment), or email 454248700@qq.com. A few honest lines are enough. Thank you!

I played through all 22 levels, and I really liked how the game keeps you guessing! Some of the tricks caught me off guard, which made the experience fun. :) I think the biggest strength is that you can't always trust what you see, so you have to experiment and think a little differently. One thing I'd love to see is a bit more variety in how the later levels surprise you, so the twists keep feeling fresh. Overall, I had fun playing through it!

Thanks so much for playing through all 22 levels! Your point about keeping the surprises varied is really helpful.

If you have a minute, which level or moment was your favorite, and which felt most confusing or unfair? Also, what device/browser did you use, and were you playing with a keyboard or touch controls? One or two concrete examples would really help me improve the next version.

I wouldn’t say there was a level that really surprised me, but overall, I had a smooth experience! I played on Safari with a keyboard, an  everything worked fine. I didn’t notice any bugs or run into any issues while playing.

Thanks for coming back to clarify! Glad it ran smoothly on Safari. The fact that no level really stood out is useful to know too—I've noted that alongside your point about adding more variety to the twists. Really appreciate you giving all 22 levels a go :)

Super cute art and animations! It's a great time-killer, though I wish the levels were a bit longer and more challenging. Adding more trap variety (like the shifting, troll-style obstacles in Level Devil) would make it even more fun. Also, it'd be great if collecting all 5 shards unlocked a mystery reward—like piecing together a ticket to watch a special show at the end—to give players more motivation to finish the game!

Thanks for playing and sharing these ideas! Turning the five shards into a ticket for a final show is a fun fit for this little world :) I've noted that, plus your points about longer, more challenging levels and more varied traps. This gives me some concrete things to try—really appreciate it!
