Hello, I’m Elif (MadEvilElif). I’m excited to share my indie game, “The Living Professions: A System Without Souls,” which I am developing under the banner of Fragment Worlds. The game follows the story of Mina, a young “Game Artist” trying to break into the gaming industry. But this isn’t your typical success story; Mina must contend with the “soulless” nature of the gaming world, the rejections that come with a lack of experience, and the harsh realities of the industry. The image above is the character design sheet for Mina. In creating her, I wanted her to be more than just an “employee”—I envisioned her as a fighter, someone striving to preserve her inner creativity despite immense pressure. The vibrant blue in her hair and on her shoes represents her creative energy, while her earth-toned attire reflects her role as a “laborer” within the system. In this devlog, I will walk you through the game’s development process, the philosophy behind the character designs, and the critique of the system woven into the narrative. If you’d like to follow the game’s development journey, witness Mina’s story, and become a part of Fragment Worlds, be sure to follow this page. “Every talent is a power; every power is a test.”
