Introduction and Process

Hello! :D

I'm sunnystormy, a creator here on itch.io. I leverage AI in various ways during game production in order to try to create compelling story-driven content. I'm going to bow-out of the jam due to personal reasons, but I promised the jam's creator that I'd share a bit on process, and I aim to keep it.

I come from a creative-heavy background already, and didn't get into AI until my wife recommended that I look into it in late 2025. About two decades prior I worked as a VFX artist for ShadowMachine (the company that makes Robot Chicken on Adult Swim) while living with relatives in LA. Prior to this, I worked in music recording during my last year of college. During the mid-2000's to late 2010's I also built-up a career working in enterprise software engineering; so, simply put, I've been around the block doing various creative things.

When trying to be creative, I tend to fall back on the modes of persuasion quite a bit: "ethos", "pathos", and "logos". A majority of visual art emphasizes pathos (appeal to emotion), and I think that (depending upon the context) literary work tends to incorporate ethos (appeal to authority) and logos (appeal to reason) more. Establishing a human connection through expertise, emotion, or logic is a learned skill; And one has to spend as much time understanding humanity, as they do creating works that inspire us.

My experience with transmedia is limited. I think a good example of transmedia from my adolescence is when I first played Metal Gear Solid for the PSX. In order to contact Meryl, you had to look at the back of the CD case that the game came with. I can honestly say that this baffled me for a short while, before slapping my forehead and figuring it out. Transmedia is probably more prevalent than you think!

I wish all of the jam participants the best of luck! Thank you again to Iapinchien for reaching out to me and encouraging my participation.

Cheers!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this, Sunnystormy! Your background is incredible, and that MGS1 memory is pure transmedia magic. Sorry to hear you can't participate this time, but your insights on ethos/pathos/logos are a great addition to the forum. Wish you all the best, and hope to see you around for the next one! Cheers!
