I played the demo all the way through to the DEMO COMPLETE card (month 12: Senate bill, two regional crises, State of the Union, no errors). The writing and the year-end speech recap are strong. The speech's numbers matched my run exactly. One CSS gap makes the desk look stale, though:

1. The "ELECTED ADMINISTRATION · FIRST MORNING" briefing never goes away. updateFirstBriefing() adds the "hidden" class after month 1, but the stylesheet only has display:none rules for .splash.hidden, .modal-overlay.hidden, .sovereignty-finale.hidden and .finale-title.hidden. So #firstBriefing stays display:block all year. At month 12 my desk still showed "A promise at the market gate" with "Current figures: treasury $40k · public trust 65% · military loyalty 50%", while I actually had $53k, 62% and 81%.

2. Same cause: #storyVisual (the 112 px event-photo frame) is supposed to show only on months 6 and 25. Every other month it's an empty bordered box with a broken-image icon above the story title.

3. Same cause: the CRISIS FILE button is visible every month, and with no crisis pending, clicking it does nothing.

One rule like `.hidden { display: none !important; }` should fix all three.

Small things: the briefing reads "President Jean-Baptiste Dessalines, The election gave you..." (capital T after the comma). And the DEMO COMPLETE card only offers "Return to the title screen". That's the moment a player most wants the full five-year game, so a "Get the full version" link there would probably sell more copies than the one on the page below the embed.
