How does your game interpret and use the Theme / Halloween?
Fireflies are creatures that only come out at night. I used the theme to introduce a non-horror, non-terror, non-mystery game idea.

Game Engine?

HTML / Web

Graphics & Audio: What did you create or use?

AI Art/Audio

Have you participated in a game jam before this one?

Yes

Roughly how much time did you spend developing? (in hours)
It came to my mind in less than 3 seconds when I thought "what this theme means to me as I hate horror and terror stuff?" - the firefly idea, a simple insect that goes out only at night. Then the gameplay was inspired by Donkey Kong Country 3 crystal caves, but with my own idea together. It took me around 1 hour to finish, and another 30 minutes to tweak the game after playtesting it.

Anything else you'd like to share about your game or development process?
Thanks for allowing a game made with AI. Even though the art, sound and code were made using AI, the game idea and specifications are all mine, including the details on how it works.

Super cool idea for it only comes out at night. This is the first entry I see that has a non monster or evil entity coming out. I'm really impatient and my memory sucks so this isn't the right game for me but I still think your idea was super creative. I appreciate entries that aren't too scary because I'm not good with jumpscares haha.

I just can't stand horror, terror, scary and alikes. I wouldn't even join this jam if it wasn't for this idea hahahaha. Thanks!

Thanks for making this one, the sunny grove with pumpkins and the dozing frog on a stump was a gentle and charming take on the theme. I flew the firefly from leaf to leaf, hid while the frog dozed, and watched its throat swell and its eyes open before a croak, which made each move feel tense. I got eaten a few times, including once after I had made it past the frog to a leaf on the right, so I did not reach the night dance in my play. A slightly longer doze or a clearer warning on day one would help new players learn the rhythm before the frog wakes.

Thank you for the feedback. It's amazing to see how different perspectives about a game. I was so used to it, that I wanted to increase difficulty on the frog part, and it's actually hard. I'll revisit it.
