Station 8 – free demo: an anomaly horror game set in a care home at night

Station 8 is a first-person anomaly game. You are on night shift at the Hope House Care Home.

  • Memorise the corridor on Station 0.
  • Something is wrong? Turn around and run back.
  • Everything normal? Keep walking.
  • Make it to Station 8.

The free demo has 16 anomalies, from barely visible to impossible to miss, a special level behind a door that should have stayed shut, an anomaly album, and something strange waiting after Station 8. It runs in the browser, and there is a Windows download. German and English.

About me: I'm a geriatric nurse, not a programmer. This game is where my creativity goes. All characters, names and places are made up, there are no references to real people. I used AI as a coding assistant, the ideas, design and testing are mine.

Content warning: 18+ (blood, death, jumpscares, sexual innuendo, crude humour).

Feedback is very welcome: Which anomaly got you? What was too easy? What should the full version have?

A care home at night is a great setting for an anomaly game, every corridor already looks a little wrong. Is the special level behind the door reachable on a first run, or do you need to find anomalies first?

Thank you, that’s exactly the feeling I was going for! Every corridor in a care home at night already feels a little off.

Yes, you’ll find it on your first run. Somewhere between Station 2 and 7 one of the double doors at the crossing will stand open, and you can simply walk in. You don’t need to find anything first. Which room waits behind it is random, and each one has its own endings, so it’s worth going in more than once.

One tip: the open door itself counts as an anomaly. ;)

Have fun on your night shift!
