I can't seem to keep her alive for more than a few minutes. The little face at the bottom will light up, but her stats are normal and she doesn't want to talk. Then, the little droplet symbol will light up, which I assumed meant she needed medicine, but apparently that wasn't right. The "???" button also lit up, but clicking it didn't do anything. And then she always ends up dying.
I actually like how the UI is unintuitive (having to memorize which of the three main buttons does what), and having to hide her whenever someone knocks on the door. I think this would kinda be fun, if I could figure out what I'm doing wrong lmao.
Thanks for checking out Nekotiti! I've had a couple of comments about being unsure what to do next so I'm going iterate on how instruct people how to play the game--I'm not communicating some stuff correctly. If you felt like checking it out again, if you can get the red ??? button to flash, try pressing it next time one of your family enter the room (something amazing will happen). I think UI being a bit clunky, coupled with the family intrusions is clunky in a fun way too!
She was pretty much on alarm the whole time from the start, I cleaned and fed her and talked to her but she went and died of neglect while I was hiding her from I think about the 4th or 5th person coming through the door? Those guys seem more annoying than anything with how often they come in, and how there really isn't more to do than to wait.
Thanks for checking it out. Fair call, I'm going to take a look at the alarm to make it a little less overwhelming and make it clearer what Nekotiti needs. I didn't communicate it in the best way it seems, but if you felt like giving it another go, you can click on them to make them go away faster. Thanks for the feedback!
First Impressions: Your game’s page is very pretty. The art and page are very nice alone, the name is clever too. The tasteful colour gradient on the title, the instructions are in the form of pretty art, my god it even has the cat tiling in the background (can I steal that idea?)
Booting up into the menu, the music is nice. I vaguely recall seeing the women in the framed pictures in some AI camping comic. I need to drink more to forget that. I died immediately by opening the door to my sis, I had no idea that would kill me lol.I think the hide her from everyone should be clearer in the instructions, and maybe the button to hide should toggle between saying “hide” and “use” or something.
Afterthoughts:
I sacrificed about three family members to it, but lost still. She seemed sad, but not sure what it was since I kept chatting. I wish there were a slightly easier way to tell what’s wrong with her, going into the menu takes too long. Seems fun enough though! I think the best part of the game though is the riddles. Some of the stale memes were kinda med, the AI chads one was off-putting. If you used AI for this, I wish you the worst, but maybe try this prompt next time: 𓀔𓀇𓀅𓀋𓀡𓀡𓀕𓀠𓀧𓀨𓀣𓀷𓀷𓀿𓀿𓁀𓁶𓁰 𓁴𓁿𓂀𓁾𓁵𓁯𓂞𓂤𓂗𓃃𓂾𓂺𓂹 𓃞𓃙𓃖𓃓𓃕𓃓𓃜𓃘𓃙𓃟𓃛𓃞 𓂺𓃂𓂿𓂺𓃃𓃂𓂛𓂏𓅱𓅥𓅩𓅦 𓅹𓅸𓅳𓅩𓅪𓄭𓄫𓄮𓄬𓄗𓄑𓄌𓃦 𓃧𓃨𓃤𓃟𓃓𓃅𓃁𓂽𓃂𓂊𓁾𓂀𓁽 𓁼𓁠𓁛𓁟𓁦𓁜𓁭𓁡𓀔𓀇𓀅𓀋𓀡𓀡𓀕𓀠𓀧𓀨𓀣 𓀷𓀷𓀿𓀿𓁀𓁶𓁰𓁴𓁿𓂀𓁾𓁵𓁯𓂞𓂤𓂗 𓃃𓂾𓂺𓂹𓃞𓃙𓃖𓃓𓃕𓃓𓃜 𓃘𓃙𓃟𓃛𓃞𓂺𓃂𓂿𓂺𓃃𓃂 𓂛𓂏𓅱𓅥𓅩𓅦𓅹𓅸𓅳𓅩𓅪𓄭𓄫𓄮 𓄬𓄗𓄑𓄌𓃦𓃧𓃨𓃤𓃟𓃓𓃅𓃁 𓂽𓃂𓂊𓁾𓂀𓁽𓁼𓁠𓁛𓁟𓁦𓁜𓁭𓁡𓀔𓀇𓀅 𓀋𓀡𓀡𓀕𓀠𓀧𓀨𓀣𓀷𓀷𓀿𓀿𓁀𓁶𓁰𓁴𓁿 𓂀𓁾𓁵𓁯𓂞𓂤𓂗𓃃𓂾𓂺𓂹𓃞𓃙 𓃖𓃓𓃕𓃓𓃜𓃘𓃙𓃟𓃛𓃞𓂺𓃂 Get cursed of the Nile’d
Things that didn’t work the way I thought they would: I wish there was a fullscreen button on the webpage. I tried clicking on background stuff hoping something would happen.
Thank you for the kind and considerable feedback! I definitely will iterate on the UI for hiding/showing Nekotiti (and that you should do so).
Haha yes the memes are perhaps getting a little long in the tooth. I plan to give the family a bit more character in their dialogue soon, so hopefully I can shift the meme balance a bit. Thankfully there is no need to curse my shit up 𓂺.
I will 100% fix up the full-screen button and pop it on the enter-your-name screen, which I should have done in the first place. Things to click on in the BG is a good idea and will be incorporated.
Cool concept. I find the art to be very expressive.
I think that the game gets tiresome after a while because you can only wait while a family member is around. They accomplish being annoying but they are also annoying me in real life. I'd rather have shorter, more frequent interruptions instead.
Sadly, I couldn't finish the game because after a while, in true sphinx fashion, she gets perpetually depressed no matter how many riddles I solve and dies. You could say this is a skill sphinx issue, but I'm not sure what else I can do to kill the rest of the family.
Thanks for playing and for giving feedback! If you ever feel like giving it another go, try clicking on the family members to make them go away quicker. This isn't really communicated well enough in the game so I'll have a think how to improve this. Yes it's fair to say the way she communicates what she wants needs some iteration. I didn't necessarily want the riddle to be 'how can I keep this fkn cat alive?' Thanks for the kind encouragement
Could be cute but the interruptions get in the way of playing the game or figuring it out. she seemed to die on me twice, but also the bro caught me as the dog, I thought i’d be safe.
The way the hide mechanic currently works is annoying due to how often it is. I think with real tamagochi you could tend to them only a few times a day, so maybe you could add other stuff to do during the day.
Thanks for giving Nekotiti a go and for your feedback! You've made some fair points. Maybe I could have a more relaxed mode (like a desktop idle mode) where the game is a bit more chill and the focus is on slower, more cute tamagotchi-like interactions (rather than the sacrificing your family narrative and attention diverting mode it has now). Is that the type of gameplay you'd like to see?
This has a ton of SOVL and I would love it except this damn cat keeps dying on me. Tried a few runs and by the time the red button becomes unlocked, I'm spamming actions and it's never the right one for what she needs. I wish there was better indication of what she wants when it's not a visible thing like poop or naughty.l
Thanks for trying it out and I appreciate the feedback! I've had some challenges balancing communicating what you need to do while still keeping a little bit of mystery as to what she wants and I think it's not quite right at the moment (often she just wants a riddle). Is there anything you think would make it a bit more fun communicating her needs?

Wasn't for me but it was an interesting time.
Thanks for giving Nekotiti a go! I appreciate the playthrough commentary vid--it's helpful to hear your thoughts as you play

Cute, but I didn't really get it lol
