Design Statement
The track's opening felt spacious and otherworldly to us. It suggested a place far from home: a planet whose civilization has already vanished. As the music gradually climbs, I hear a story gathering around me, as though I am entering a past that has been lost. The sudden change near the end feels like a return to the present, after everything has happened. The story of remembering breaks off, but life still has to continue. That movement shaped the game's open ending and its central line: “Nothing can be changed. But something can be remembered.”

Game Instructions (launch steps, controls, and gameplay overview)
Launch: For developer tools that allow skipping stages and a story mode that highlights all clues, download the playtest file and press F2 for switching. Otherwise, download the other zip for the full experience.

Extract the whole zip (keep TheTwins.exe and TheTwins.pck together) and run TheTwins.exe. Windows only; mouse and keyboard; headphones recommended. The game saves automatically, so choose Continue next time.

Controls: Left click to select, brush, drag and advance dialogue. Tab / N opens the notebook, Esc puts away a tool, the mouse wheel moves the searchlight’s year, and Ctrl + T shows all controls in game.

How to play: You land on a dead planet and read the graves of two cities, Day and Night. Zoom in on a marker, then use your rubbing, searchlight and camera to record clues. Connect them in your notebook, and show them to Aurora on the radio to learn what they mean. Then file an identity and a fate for each grave. Point-and-click puzzle game, no combat and no failing; about 45–90 minutes.

Did your project use any AI tools or assets? If yes, please specify.
A) We used generative AI to assist with programming, organise metadata and dialogue conditions for our authored content, and helped with some translation and proofreading of grammar. The great majority of dialogue, all worldbuilding, characters, core narrative and puzzle design were written by the team; a small amount of supplementary text was generated: random radio replies, short clue and interface summaries, and the Chinese playtest full text translation.
We also used AI tool to outline the draft of the pitch deck and rough cut the trailer using screen recordings given time constraints, and adjust based on that.

Art and soundtracks are original by the team. Sound effects are used with credit.

Interesting concept, I couldn't figure out how to play it. It felt confusion.
