Design Statement
After listening to the track for some time, forests and adventure came to mind. To me the theme was about an adventure in a magical forest to uncover dark secrets. When creating the game, my most important design choices were to have this be in Elf fiction, and to have dark tones in the forest environment. So the game was crafted from a story first, about the trauma an Elf could have, the consequences for going against their passive nature that’s usually portrayed in many works, and the trial to face in this magical dark forest setting. I wanted to have adventure as well, through the way the environment is shaped, and the lead up to how the story was told by our protagonist, and how it’s different from reality. The elf in the end of their trial facing their own evil manifested to close the adventure.

The intro was also spectacular- the art, and voice acting... everything was incredible!! The design for the final boss was really sick! The mix of 2D sprites in a 3D environment was really cool too!!

Personally, I do think the player speed was a lil slow compared to what I think would've been nice for a bullet hell-like adventure game like this, and I wish the dash attack had a visible stamina bar!! I kept trying to spam it because it just felt really satisfying to me, but it seems like it has some sorta cooldown (which makes sense!) but having a visual indicator of when it was back up would've been great since I was often left guessing when I could use that attack again.

Overall though this was a pretty cool game!! Keep up the good work :D

Love, love, love the format of this game. The mix of 2D characters and 3D environments is amazing and I wish I make something like this in future. Also like the Intro, it shows that you were really serious while making this project and don't want to treat it like a casual project for a Jam submission!!! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
