Definitely a great little concept! couldn't get that far though after defeating the knight. I was unable to walk back past the dog or go up the path. Then if you came back to the night room it seems like the game locked up.
Really love the Fight mechanics and definitely a game that could be expanded on long term.
Wish there was some outer world audio to or more interaction audio like footsteps .
Seems like a lot of content! the sprite from the opening fight is cool. I can't find the dead bloom flower, if you could give me a hint;)
Really great job with this one! I loved the dialogue and world building. Adding a dodge roll mechanic to the classic turn-based combat is a great idea and you pulled it off well, especially as it looks like you used GBStudio!
The character art and music was also excellent. A real stand-out entry to the jam, nice work!
I loved this!!!
After defeating the crab, the dogs moved, but then ended up blocking my way, both to the forest and in the house. This game was so cute! I loved the puppers! - but when I came back, they were still sitting in the hallways, and wouldn't move. So I couldn't progress.
Lovely aesthetic, adorable characters, laugh out loud dialogue, this is really a gem. By far my favorite vibe so far, I wish I didn't get stuck.... just don't punish the dogs. He was the bestest boy. :)
The game looks phenomenal! Beautifully suited art, down to text boxes and NPCs. Would've liked to have some overworld music, but the battle music was appropriately good... Did find some bugs when leaving a house and/or moving to a new area, by rolling.
It keeps that gameboy aesthetic while introducing more modern rpg ideas and themes. Great job!
