I guess to clearify, I like JoJos over the topness. Part 1 and 2 I love, 3 was Ok, part 4 made me drop the series all together. So I would say its a reference to later JoJo or stands at all. More so a reference to the pillar men.
I guess its a reference more so to the Ginyu force but JoJo definitely had an influence
haha thanks! the rhythm system is less rhythm gamy than one might think, but I appreciate the kind words! And I completely agree about needing more commands! In fact there is a useless command still programmed in the game, there is no feed back for it, but there is a dance that doubles your next attacks damage, if you do >><<. Originally the Enemy was going to be able to dodge, and charging your attack ignored the dodge and doubled your damage so it would be worth using. I just couldn't get the enemy to dodge for me haha. The Charge command is still in the game, it just is the same as attacking twice so I decided not to show it.
Felt like I was the protagonist in a Jojo manga 10/10.
In all seriousness, a really well executed game, you mess up a bit early on, but when you get in the zone and start hitting all these notes and chaining attacks, dodge and heals, you truly feel like a muscle god !
Great job !
An honestly silly game that is actually very enjoyable.
Amazing graphics with the buff dudes posing, and the music selection I thought was very nice.
Gameplay wise it offers a good challenge. Inputting the commands to the rhythmn, picking the right directions, and trying to time the dodge to the enemy's attack made it an interesting game, especially when it started speeding up and you had to really focus on it.
It's a great example of doing only one thing the best way possible - one level, one challenge, very well executed.
Lovely entry right here!
I have no idea what inspired this game, but it it truly unique and hilarious. I found the optimal (probably not actually optimal, but seemingly foolproof) strategy was to just alternate between heal and damage, but the pace really picked up at the end. I came very close to losing. Great work, I love the art.
Thanks I really appreciate! The pace change at the end can be brutal if your not ready for the change.
The inspiration is actually a weird story, basically a few of my friends of mine were playing among us, and someone made the joke of "crew-sonas" So I kinda as a joke drew a Buff Among us crewmate, which basically became JUSTICE BLUE. I love terrible power ranger knockoffs so that's what the drawing made me think of. Power rangers always had a Sci-Fi feel to me so that's the future part taken care of. The gameplay was just, what if Patapon was a fighting game, cause it would let me have the characters pose at each other and I was kinda going for a JoJo/Ginyu force sort of over the topness. So thats the tale of the Idea behind it, wish I had more time to make more poses but the character art takes 40 minutes each pose (then its just a recolor)
