There is a new thread for bugs, a build specific thread.
Hello ! I just downloaded the last public version, and when I try to open my inventory, it says "TypeError Cannot read property "recipeItem" of undefined". Hope this bug haven't been reported yet x) And it does that right at the beginning, and so I can't equip the speedo x) I'm using an old save file, so should it be because of that ?
I can't seem to save the game no matter how many times I try, I've even downloaded the
https://www.mediafire.com/file/lcni9snphjud88w/save.rar/file and put it on the "www" folder but I still can't open it
anyone got any tips
It should be in the load menu when you start the game. Also the save needs to be in a folder named "save" IN the www folder, not just the file in the www folder. The folder is created when you make a new game and save it. Or you can make one yourself, but I would make a new save in game to make the folder.
I'm having this same issue. I go to save at the statue or the menu, it pulls up the save menu and asks which file to use, but no matter which I pick I get a buzz sound. I have done the steps you have outlined below, though I will say I am still running the game while I did that, because I'd like to not lose my place
Because I was unable to make a save, I had to make the save file myself to put the save.rar in, is the name of the folder just supposed to be "save" or does it have a different name (as I assume the name needs to be EXACTLY what the game is expecting)
UPDATE: I was crawling through in game menu's and then I hit this while trying to back out of the OPTIONS menu
RAR? Have you unrarred the game? Saves don't work if you're playing it through winrar.
Usually when you do stuff in the folders while in the game, it can bug out.
To save there should be a "save" folder in "www" folder. And inside that should be
config.rpgsave
global.rpgsave
and then file1.rpgsave and so on, if you have saves. You can make the other 2 appear if you delete the save folder and start and save a new game. Then you can just drop your previous file(number).rpgsave or the whole inside of your previous build's save folder into the new save folder.
edit: do you have a save folder inside the save folder? That's not how it's supposed to be like. There should only be the files above in the save folder.
The game as a whole? I took the .zip version and extracted it yes. No save folder was made in that process.
As for the RAR extra file I had to grab, the one from earlier in this thread does not have a config.rpgsave file in it. I have now unpacked the RAR file and it contains global.rpgsave and a save for file 3
I can also confirm even after unpacking the RAR I still cannot save
An earlier thread in here said that you may have to make your own "save" file which is why I did that. Once I had unpacked it I did end up with a nested "save" folder, but I fixed that by moving things around
For whatever reason, my version of the game has come under the impression that this character is the cave. It's possible that this has been caused by my computer automatically transferring my 0.8 save to this newest version (Not sure why- noticed it when I first opened the folder- assumed it was supposed to be like that, once I saw it.), but I'm not sure.
However, checking the files, there is no image for this character.
nope my Hard drive died and I lost my previous save so I had to start from scratch when I got a new one so there is zero chance this is a error from a previous build. I wouldn't put it past my shitty laptop to some how cause this though. It had problems with other itch games as well.
I think I remember the the sequence of events that may have caused it but I'm not sure. I spoke to the wolf outside and he told me to use a water bottle on the rats I then walked in encountered one rat realized I may be under leveled ran from that battle then left the dungeon. It was a little while later after a save that I noticed my attack command was still replaced with water attack outside the dungeon. Changing weapons didn't help and relaunching the game never helped besides that I don't know how else I could reverse it I even went back to the dungeon and did a few things in there then left again to see if it was just a missed trigger. Honestly I don't think we really need that attack change for the dungeon unless it's just there to make it more difficult. Regular attacks from other party members deal a lot more damage.
I still managed to get to the end of the current public build like this but it could become a big problem later because attack stats don't seem to affect the damage it causes. It only deals around 4 damage 6 if there weak to water.
