I had an issue when I tried to pick another gun, I always had the shotgun. Loved the enemy variety!
Wow that's some dense gameplay. At first it was pretty easy but then shit escalated pretty fast hahah
Also I liked the visuals, especially particle effects! But overall i liked the gameplay, its solid and the variaty of enemis are insnase for 48 hours!
the character feels great and its fun to move and shoot at the same time
Great job!
Pretty fun game :D Shooting the enemies while using the jetpack was satisfaying. For some reason i couldnt choose other weapons? Also adding an audio when flying with the jetpack could be nice.Overall enjoyed it nice work :)
The gameplay is good, there is more than one enemy, and some weapon selection. Didn't figure out jetpack at first, but when I got it, the gameplay got more interesting. Moving Platforms are not really moving you, they are just by themselves. You can make it that player inherits position from platform, that's how I made moving platforms in one of my projects. You had some inspiration from Dani, it can be seen. Not saying it's a bad thing though. Anyway, really cool
Thanks for the feedback!
- oh yeah I forgot to make the player move with the platform, thanks for pointing that out, I'll be taking your idea and adding it for the next update
- Yeah I was watching his video while making the game and before I knew it, my game turned out to be really similar haha, I'll be making lots of changes after the game jam to make it into my own game that's nice and original!
The games nice and I like the art style as well with the postprocessing effects and animation, the sound effects and music fit the game very well but what's with the three weapons at the main menu cause I can't get any new weapons, for the enemies please at some sort of particle effects before they spawn since I can't tell where they will be spawning and end up dying.
nice job on your first game jam especially a two days one :D(I like your sense of humour)
Really enjoyed the enemy variety and choice of weapons!
My feedback would be :
- Can the movement and interaction with the jetpack be made more fluid? Feels like a game where I want to be moving around a lot!
- Might be interesting to look into what art design / tone you think would best fit the project - enjoyed aesthetics but don't know if they fit with the game over screen's vibe.
Hope you have time to rate and give us feedback for MaizeGunner, thanks!
Wow thanks for the detailed feedback!
- yeah good point, I definitely will be making the movements more smooth cus right now it's pretty stiff
- I will be changing some looks of the enemies and the UI screen, I kinda just slapped those on with little time remaining so the aesthetic is all over the place haha
No problem I'll take a look at your game!
I'll be honest, I was using this game jam to just learn new skills, so I did watch his video and somehow before I knew it, it turned out really similar HAHA, after the voting period though, I'll be making lots of changes so that it's much more original and won't look like dani's game at all anymore!
Nice use of particles and post processing the polish the experience. I think its pretty solid. My only gripes involve the stiff feeling movement, and relatively non-impactful jetpack. Otherwise, solid enemy design, and really smooth overall experience.
the game was good art needed some work but dont worry i dont rate based on that until u worked really hard on art. As your first gamejam u did splendid! The game was very fun.
Awesome work! Really playable game. I had a lot of fun getting messed up by hordes of mad enemies!
