OT: Neverending Nights (my web series).

So back in 2004, I started a web series (machinima) called Neverending Nights. Finished all 65 episodes in 2013. In 2015, I decided to go back and refilm the entire series in 1080p (originally it was 800x600, then 1024x768; had a crappy editor that killed the picture quality, etc). So I just finished the final episode in 1080p this month (2021). They're on my site, on Facebook, but the easiest way to watch it is Youtube (make sure to click the gear icon and change it to 1080p if it doesn't default to that, to get the most out of it). Thank you! The first five episodes, we were not even sure what we were doing (story wise). Had a very loose plot - but after we'd gotten some attention back then (interviewed by Bioware - makers of NWN, interview in PC Gamer, etc) - we picked up our game - and it starts to show around Episode 10.

And how it's so much better than Critical Role? (I mean, it's not - but then we didn't have their funding) :D

To be fair a lot of things I enjoy would be nicer with 'Matt Mercer money' lol Just kinda picturing If the Emperor had a Text to Speech with that kinda funding and dayum.
Pretty good show, audio quality is amazing. What did you guys use for recording?

Well, we upgraded along the way.

When we started (Episodes 1 through 9), it was a cheap $9.99 microphone. Around Episode 10, we realized we wanted to take this serious and bought SHURE microphones, and built a DYI "Studio" in the garage to record in (for the rest of Season 1 and Season 2 - so Episodes 10 through 42). Then for Season 3, we recorded in my home office (which was pretty quiet) using the same SHURE mic set up. The audio software we use is GoldWave (and I am a stickler for trying to get the right sound). The only one I was never able to fully clean up because the original had so much noise was Episode 8.
