After 24 hrs of rigorous testing by a dedicated team of 5 people, all the known bugs are gone. Worlds 1 and 2 are finally done from a gameplay perspective (thus fast overnight updates that were being released faster than people were able to download them). There are still some opposite opinions about couple of game design decisions, but I'm happy with what I have for now.

Finally I feel that I'm ready to start working on world 3 (Swamp), which includes drawing new tiles, coming up with new mechanics (traps and environment) and also, creating modified and brand new enemies.

Build 0.0.2.12 has been dubbed "stable" and will stay available for downloads alongside the newer builds (which will be marked as 0.0.3.x and contain new levels for the world 3 for early testing).

[Minor] build 0.0.2.14

While working on the graphics for the world 3 I remembered to create a different look for the doors on world 2 (so they don't all look the same as those in world 1, but follow the world theme instead). Also added a 1 sec delay to end screen, so it does not "automatically" send you to menu after game over.

TL,DR; If you already have pre-alpha 24 you don't need to update to pre-alpha 25

[Minor] build 0.0.2.15

  • Improved the look of world map
  • Pushed fog of war a bit further away so players can see one world ahead

Map changes

TL,DR; If you already have pre-alpha 25 you don't need to update to pre-alpha 26

Developer

[Minor] buiild 0.0.3.1b / 0.0.2.16

  • World 2 platforms outline reverted to previous look
  • Added more tiles for world 3 and a nice outline for the platforms
  • Fixed a minor audio glitch for one of the swamp enemies
  • Added a new enemy to the swamp
  • Improved the high score / end game screen with x/5 stars rating based on score.
Please note: While changes to the world 2 tiles and end screen will be visible in the demo (0.0.2.16), world 3 levels are available only to the buyers of the game (0.0.3.1b).

[Minor] Build 0.0.3.2b.exe

  • Added slight delay (1/3 of a second) to story screens because with certain gamepads you could have skipped them altogether on accident - please check now and report if it works as it should (hold space rushes text, press space goes to next screen, ctrl skips altogether; should work similar on gp)
  • Fixed a typo (don't ask)
  • added required delay of 2 seconds to ax throwers so there should be no way for them to throw 2 axes in a row now without at least 2 seconds inbetween
  • Improved the looks of a bean soup kettle by adding embers underneath, better shading, a heart marking on the side and animated heart/bubbles on top
  • Added more bean soup kettles to world 2 and world 3 levels.

If everything works better now I'll push these changes to the demo version too after more testing.

Developer

[Minor] Build 0.0.3.2c

  • Switched gamepad intro controls (btn1 was ctrl (skip) and btn2 was space (fast forward). I was told that gamepad users are used to using btn1 for advancement through the intro, not skipping it... that would explain "the bug" that was being reported with intro skipping pages when "fast forward" was pressed (apparently they pressed the wrong button without reading the quick starter guide)... which is what it is supposed to do when you press skip. I hope this put's the end to that story now.)
Developer

[Major] Build 0.0.3.3

  • New level (3-3)
  • New trap (mechanical spears)
  • Improved shading on the falling stalactites in world 1
  • Changed the tone of ax throwers so they are more easily distinguished from regular skeletons
  • Added new announcement sounds: Ax thrower, Rous, Wasp, Milipede
  • Added new tiles (transition grass2stone, decorative shell)
Developer

[Major] Build 0.0.3.4

  • New level (3-4)
  • Parallax backgrounds for World 2 changed (front layer of tombstones added, hills lowered)
  • Improved couple of story graphics
All recent changes pushed to demo branch too; new levels not available in the demo.
Developer (1 edit)

[Minor] Build 0.0.3.4a

  • Fixed 2 bugs related to coins (story and save&continue options didn't work fully as intended lately)
  • Fixed (I hope) a long standing bug with re-spawning after falling into a trap in a completely new way after the old way broke with recent updates
Both windows/ubuntu release and demo version are updated.
Developer

[Minor] Build 0.0.3.4b

  • Limited vertical speed to avoid some weird bugs when falling long distances.
  • Version number shown in HUD
Developer

[Major] Build 0.0.3.5

  • Level 3-4 moved to 3-5
  • Brand new level 3-4
  • Fixed some problematic tiles for a first tree on 3-1
  • Moved the first snake on 3-2
  • Fixed leap of faith on 3-5 (former 3-4)
  • ROUS nerfed (speed, sight)
  • Floating leaves synced better (to be seen)
Developer

[Major] Build 0.0.3.6

  • Brand new level 3-6
  • Knock-back from enemies and traps greatly reduced
  • Fixed some misplaced tiles in world 1
  • Mine shaft lamp in world 1 animated
  • Changed the look of vine leaves platforms
  • Changed the hurt effect and destruction effect for the Golem King boss
  • Added new background tiles for world 3
  • Added new type of destructible platforms
Please note: Promotion to alpha is long overdue. There's no known game-breaking bugs for months now, game works just fine and graphics have been improved a lot lately. I'll change development status from pre-alpha to alpha after the world 3 is done. That means one more level, 2 story screens and a boss fight. I might also improve animation/looks for the ghosts in world 2 for this occasion.
Developer

[Major] Build 0.0.3.7

  • World 3 boss fight

  • Fixed some tile placement on world 3
  • Added an underwater detail to hint that depths are dangerous
  • Fixed a small inconsistency in level 1-7
  • Added a tutorial hint for opening doors in level 1-1

Please note: Promotion to alpha is long overdue. There's no known game-breaking bugs for months now, game works just fine and graphics have been improved a lot lately. I'll change development status from pre-alpha to alpha after the world 3 is done. That means as soon as I'm happy with the amount of testing this version receives.
